Why do women do these things to their children?

i was on call to a child abuse neglect call and i found a 6 month old baby ingested crack cocaine and whiskey.the baby was passed out on the floor.the mother was asleep and i found crack pipes around her bed.it makes me upset when i have to deal with people like this luckly the baby is going to be ok she's in cps custody.my wife is pregnant with twins why woman do these things to their children?

Because they have problems and can't take care of themselves let alone a child.  People like that either didn't want the baby in the first place or only had them to get the welfare money.  Very sad.

They are worthless pieces of trash.  A woman like that deserves - no, needs - an involuntary hysterectomy to ensure she doesn't get the chance of endangering another child.

Drugs are nothing but an excuse for anything..."My life is bad so I'm gonna do drugs" "I got a D on a test and I'm a straight A student so I'm gonna do some drugs to take the edge off" "everyone else is doing it what will it hurt?"....Its either an excuse to take something away or its because everyone else is doing it so why shouldn't they...and then they get addicted and usually no amount of love or support can get them to kick their habit. Just the same as alcohol.  When an addict has a child,they still can not get it through their heads that this life depends on them being sober and then things like this happen.ITs horrible that people result to this as a way out,and then when most of them thnk about quitting...they do it even more...

MY sister in law was a pot head..smoked all day everyday and almost lost my brothers baby due to it...and truth be told I kind of wish they would have taken the baby because she is home all day with her and more than likely still smoking pot day in,day out while my brother is at work....It worries me to death,but until CPS catches her in the act there is nothing they can do.

Congratulations on your wife's pregnancy w/ twins.  I have twin boys and its a wonderful experience.

But on to  your question....

Sadly, there are people in the world such as the one you came in counter with.  When people are on drugs, nothing else matters to them but drugs.  They don't care about anything, including their children.  And half the time, they are not thinking straight and don't even realize what they do.

But thankfully, we have people to be their in emergencies like this and be able to save a life when it is put in danger.

It's just not as simple as it seems. When people are on drugs, they can't make logical decisions. Obviously the child had to be removed because the situation isn't safe, but it most likely wasn't an intentional, conscious decision the mother made (to give the baby crack and whiskey).

OMG!!!!!!!THat just ticked me off so freakin bad. i dont kno i dont kno i just dont know how ppl can do that. that makes me and my husband so mad. we too havetwins. 10 months old now.girl/boy twins. i hope everything goes well for yous. i had them at 7 months. both 3.5 pounds and they did really remarkable. and i have a 3.5 yr old son and we cant even raise our voices or cuzz around them let alone do something like that.I guess that person would have to be on drugs(duh i guess so ) But......drugs, especially crack( speakin from experiance here) that drug will make you do anything. its the devils drug. its not that you dont care and you dont kno what your doing, but the drug is just to over powering. i dont see how perople could hurt there kids in any way, especially the mom afer carrying them ya kno? ALSO...If you were on the call...how can you be dismissing the info that you found? isnt that illeagal? to do that? tell others about some ones elses case like that? couldnt that crack head sue you for that? and win?lol...and buy more crack!?lol...i dont kno...just be careful.and the mothers have to be mental and on drugs

I don't think it's just the women's fault where was the dad? anyway, these kinds of people should not even be allowed to own a fish. the sad part is that the mother will probably get the child back. You sound like you are worried that your wife will be that way, I'm sure she won't be 100% perfect but no one is so don't expect it.

wow that is crazy I have a 6 month old myself and I CAN'T IMAGINE a little baby having to go through something like that alot of sick people in this world it makes me mad.
