Why do women fake orgasms?

I think because after awhile of them not actually reaching their climax, they get irritated, or bored of trying, so they fake it so then they can just roll over and go to sleep without the guy feeling as if he failed at pleasuring her.

cuz a guy's ego would crash and burn if he didnt get his girl "off"...so we do it to be nice for the most part........Sometimes when your not in the mood, faking orgasms is the bast way to end the session quickly.

They believe that if they do not sound EXTREMELY pleased and "into it" that the guy will not find them exciting.  They believe that they must show how truly HOT they are, or the guy will think that she is frigid.  Also, if the man doesn't have some proof that he is rocking her world, then he will find lovemaking with her a bore and too much like "work".

That depends on the situation.  Often, I won't bother faking.  

We women know whether we will be able to achieve the big O or not before they even start.  

Now, sometimes, my poor husband will have put forth so much effort that I feel like it would be rude to let him think that all his effort was for nothing.  I mean, we can't have him getting so discouraged that he doesn't bother to try, right!

When I was dating, it was often because I'd eventually get bored.  If he was the kind of guy who won't stop until I had my big O, then he'd go on forever and ever until he'd drilled me into the bed.  Forget that.  Better to just fake it, if only to make him stop.

Other times, it's out of pity.  Back in my dating days, I would get a guy who was so pathetic in bed, that I would fake it to give him confidence... then proceed to teach him how to do it for real.  If you don't fake it once in a while, their poor little egos shrivel up faster than a wiener in ice water.

Your question brings to mind that Seinfeld episode where this was discussed. The quote that springs to mind is "Sometimes I'm just tired and want to go to sleep."

There are a lot of men who make a big deal about the Big O, so faking makes them happy (and forestalls their obsessing over the fact you didn't).

Elaine Benes (back to Seinfeld here) said she never really had them back then, so always faked.

As with any other human behavior, the reasons vary with person and context.

Based on most of the female answers to this question, it appears the reason is that the man's performance in the bedroom is juvenile at best.

It can be damaging to a guy's ego (and in some cases even his mental health) knowing his sexual performance is poor enough to were she has to fake an o****m.

I dunno. That's just my thought on the matter. It may be for a variety of different reasons.

Some men can't perform for certain girls. Some girls can't relax enough to enjoy it.

Not that I condone this form of lying but most girls don't want to make a guy feel bad if he can't perform or last so it's easier to fake it and soothe his ego.

Some guys put a lot of their confidence in their sexual performance and to find out they are less than adequate in bed would be detrimental to their mental health.

I've faked it when a guy has said to me, "I'm not going to stop until you have an o****m!"  With that kind of pressure, it's not only impossible to o****m, it's impossible to enjoy the s*x at all.  So I faked it to get it over with.

I think it is for a number of reasons- like if it just isn't going to happen but the dude keeps pounding away anyway... or because they like the guy and don't want him to feel bad... or maybe they personally don't want to the guy to think that there is something wrong with them--- What's your theory.



My question is... how can a guy NOT KNOW you are faking? They must have it happen often so they can't tell the difference is the only thing I could think of.
