Why do women gang up on men off and online?

I've noticed this happens at the office and also online. Is there some social reason for this? The guy can be innocent too...is it for fun?

hardly. People are social creatures and tend to fall back on numbers regardless of gender.

  

        But the question could be raised: why are people afraid to carry on an honest conversation?

I like how they act like there superior to every one else. An call you out on your grammar an belittle you. There such good kind people, who can take a joke. I noticed it to you know everyone can be a bad @$$ behind a keyboard or a professor an all. From all the self promoting I see from some I feel humbled to get to comment at all on this forum. Thank you fems of Y/A for letting me bask in your shadow.

Men do it but we do it in a more disagree, not an attack on ones intelligence.

Well, if we are doing it in a joking way, that's just something we do because us females understand each other. Yep it's a girl thing, we want to be close to other women and one way that we show it is by how we understand each other's jokes. Men are an easy target I'm afraid! ....Of course we only do it because we think the man doesnt mind and it's supposed to be in good spirit for all.

EDIT: Awwwww why all the thumbs down? Come on guys I'm only talking about jokes! If people take the joke too far or get nasty that's different and yeah that's not good.

They need to feel dominant. I don't like it if they pick on some innocent guy for no reason. But if he knows it's for fun and doesn't mind then it's all good.

yep when ever you disagree with a women they feel threatened and feel that you are trying to some how degrade them.

Because women are women and we like to chat and gossip and the internet is a breeding gound for that.  Now grab a beer, sit on the couch and do what guys do best...tune us out!

I avoid this by only saying hello when I get to work, only discussing the job @ hand, and never talking about anything outside of work. This avoids me such fickle issues, plus I am celibate which helps.
