Why do women lie about it?

Okay, so we got into a discussion regarding the Seinfeld episode about pleasuring yourself and got into the whole women part of it. Hardly any woman will ever admit to doing it, yet an anonymous survey in my Sociology of s*x back in the day showed that 89% of the 200 woman polled do it. The female professor said even though it is anonymous, women tend to hide it so in reality she felt is was probably more like 99%.

Plus, I just stopped in a local adult store where they had one rack of toys for men and twelve for women. If these woman allegedly don't do it, then why were the racks twelve to one? On a side note, why do we men get shorted on that? What is up with that?

It is apparent that women do it, so why do so many lie about it?

Men think it is hot so it sure aint' gonna make us think less of ya.

For that matter why do men lie about it? I don't know any women who lie about it. I do know some ladies who dislike it though.

Masturbation isn't only about pleasing yourself, it can serve as a learning experience, you learn how you like being touched.

Your local adult store was either understocked or maybe you do not realize that many adult toys can be used for either s*x.

To play devil's advocate I would say its because there is still a stigma with "overly" sexually active women being viewed as s***s.

I don't know, maybe they are just shy. Personally, I don't know any woman who is afraid to admit to it, but then again, maybe it is just the location I am in.

Woman and girls lie about it because they are ashamed to let anyone know they like it.  If they didn't do it then why are vibrators sold  and d****s.  Believe me hon  they do it  as much as men, just too snooty to admit it.

Women lie about it? Not when I talk to them... Who are you asking, 13 year olds? Of course we are doing it, everyone is pretty much doing or has done it at some point in their lives. h**l, my cat's doing it.. with a stuffed animal toy. It's absolutely normal.

I think some women are just worried what others would say. Also they don't know how open they can be with others. As for me, it took me a while to admit it to my boyfriend but when I did I realized it was nothing to be afraid of. But then again, I grew up in a strict household where my family would tell me what a proper woman does and does not do.

I think also that society has a view of women, as supposed to be pure, sweet and coy. Although it is changing progressively by the new generation on some aspects but we (women) are still chained to that old-fashioned woman...that woman that was the type you'd "bring home to mama"

Women lie about it because it's a male-dominated society and for women to admit they m********e it would mean their men are not enough for them.

Which is silly of course. Also it's got a lot to do with people thinking it's wrong, because their parents told them so because their parents parent's told THEM so, etc.

Women lie about that because they want to seem as though they are above and in control of their sexual urges, and also that way they can use it as an argument against men because most men are honest about their sexual desires or they just dont care so they admit it,

I have no idea why so many women hide it, I certainly don't! But maybe they are just afraid to be labeled as S****y or something similar.
