sit beside other 'attractive' women in social gatherings, rather they will sit at opposite ends of the room???

I have never noticed this. Usually people who know each other stick together.

They do. I sit / stand next to whoever looks the friendliest and/or most interesting. I couldn't give a toss what they look like.

Seriously? I've never heard of this. Most people sit with their friends, or someone who looks friendly.

If people are avoiding someone, maybe it's not because she is 'attractive', maybe she doesn't look friendly or welcoming or something.

Or maybe they just know other people.

Perhaps they want to stick out. Maybe, they feel less attractive around other attractive girls.

Clearly women don't want to feel intimidated being beside a women who they feel is prettier then them. It will make them insecure and feel that the other pair of eyes in the social gatherings will compare them and that's something no body wants to face.
