Why do women "over-purse," like dressing like a hippie and carrying a Dooney and Bourke or a YSL purse?

This girl just walked in front of my house with a non-flattering man's plain white T-shirt, baggy straight leg men's jeans and some kind of fabulous purse which would look good at the beach with a summer cotton dress or a linen suit.

Because the trend right now is hideous clothing. The average dumb broad is gonna follow whatever the trend is. But, they are so shallow they have to carry an expensive purse so nobody confuses their "style" for really being poor!

I think because it is a lot easier to have good taste in bags then it is to have good taste in clothing, because there are so many different options and possibilities with clothing, wear as with a bag, it's kindof more obvious. My friends neighbor has a huge collection of designer bags, and the only thing she wares is track suits from wallmart.

oh and btw, dooney and burke isn't really considered a designer bag anymore, yves saint laurent is more highend than dooney and burke, but neither of them are the most high end
