Why do women see prostitution as their only way to make a dollar.?

I have a friend whom I have tried to help get out the game but her pimps got her brain washed.She is from Vegas and fleed to Los Angeles at the age of thirteen with a pimp and has been living in nasty motels with other women since.WHY.

A  few reasons. Her pimp has either told her that nobody will want her now and two, it could be fear that keeps her there.

Women do this because it doesn't require any "job skills" and it's easy money.

There are women, kidnapped, abused, and/ or brainwashed, who are easy picking for a pimp, and engage in some form of voluntary or forced prostitution. Others are lazy and just feel men should pay for their company. If you add drug usage into the matrix, both scenarios become a sure-fired recipes for addiction and disaster.

What I am telling you should come as no surprise.  It is easier to lie on one's back than it would be to fight a pimp, drug addiction, or the easy money rolling in.

Some don't see it as the only way but as the easiest way. And since females tend to use their "assets" to get what they want from guys throughout life, then females are automatically prostituting themselves as a part of life in some way or another already (whether they admit it or not), so they already have the mindset to go that extra bit.

This is sad. I feel that this friend of your was abused at home so she fled for another life. Unfortunately she got mixed up with the wrong people who exploit her and use her and are also abusing her. Her self esteem has been crushed. She does not respect herself. She feels this is the easiest way to make a dollar and also the easiest way to survive. I wish her well and I hope that she can change her life around.

When she was sixteen she was the penthouse playmate of the month. She did all kinds of things to survive. She changed her name and her age and then she starred in many porno films. However she was able to turn it around.

Perhaps your friend can turn her life around as well.

I got picked up in a bar by a very attractive woman a few years ago. It turned out later that she was a prostitute on her night off (I would have thought s*x was the last thing on her mind on her night off). This didn't bother me as much as when she told me that she was doing it to pay her way through her PhD! I guess this sort of thing is not all that uncommon though, and it clearly can be voluntary  rather than forced or pimped.

That pimp got her at 13? Well she has no education at all, probably can barely read or not very well, doesn't have many options at this point. Where were her parents while she was 13 living with a pimp in LA?

When women are not educated, have few opportunities for work, they sometimes go to prostitution. This girl had little chance to be anything else since a pimp had control over her at such a young age.

desperate times require desperate measures --- and sadly the young girl or boy has a mother out there somewhere ; the breakdown in family values may or may not have contributed in the future of unfortunate kids that fell into the h**l hole of the s*x trade --- those " kids " will never have a life ; neither will they be given the opportunity ---- because sleazy little pimps prey on vulnerable situations that sadly epitomise what you are ' touching ' on .

prostitution/p**n/stripping are QUICK to get a man's attention. men pay to see action and have s*x. thats why some women are dumb enough to believe that THATS the answer to their problems. what they dont realize is that it causes more long term affects in their lives. selling themselves and belittling themselves as nothing but a s*x house.

You have to offer her something better but you can't. When a person is used to making $500-2000 a day they are not going to work at a 9-5 making $7 an hour nor will they work for $20 an hour. $20 an hour is 800 a week after taxes $580 or so  and is chicken feed compared to what she makes now. Her pimp doesn't have her brainwashed by no means. If anything she was deprogrammed by societies brainwashing not to be a professional hooker when she turned her first trick and made that money. Society has to make prostitution look like the worst job in the world otherwise you would have millions of woman quitting there low paying jobs and getting with a pimp and making tax free income. The $$$ gets people into being pimps and hoes not brainwashing. I do agree that 13 is to young for a job like that no one under 18 should be an adult entertainer. If she is living in a nasty motels she should get with a better pimp and upgrade!

so you are not  asking why all women do this  - but why this specific woman does it?

there is a lot of evidence about dependence, vulnerability  and sexuality that might apply but eveybody's situation is different

and there again she might  be her own agent and making a considerd deliberate choice to live her life this way

especially in this day and age it is hard to understand with all the problems this way of earning produces however I think it is probably just a very quick way of making money and the clients ? customers? are so willing to give. Not much knowledge is needed as one soon learns on the job and not much in the way of clothes either although I have seen girls very dressed in out of the way places. Another observation would be that you would not need to apply for the job and wait for the results of your application. Pay would be hourly not weekly and the hours would depend on how you feel and depend on any commitments you have made. The down side would be the awful characters you would meet and have to be nice to and get close and personal never mind the infections you could pick up if not over the top careful. Only a very few women could possibly choose this type of work. It is not a life time career even though the money may be good---no sick pay---no holiday pay---no loading physically dangerous as well as mentally. Sorry got carried away just contemplating and have discovered that I just do not know why someone would take this path but at 13 she just probably tagged along and once in could not find the way back or listened to any sensible advice. At that age girls tend to know it all and then some.

At thirteen its highly unlikely she could have gotten a job without her parents consent.  The major issues are,   How can a parent be so cruel that a child must flee?  On the other hand , if the child was being belligerent, how can parents be so neglectful and raise children that would behave as such?

Most adults that enter this feild find it to be an easy way for a quick buck. It's not the only way to make a dollar, it's the only way they WANT to make a dollar.
