When that women asked John McCain about Hillary "How do we beat the B****?"

Everyone(men AND women) laughed like it was funny, acceptable and normal to call a woman that. This kind of behavior encourages aggression towards women.

Many women can't be friends with other women. They'd rather be friends with guys. Is it acceptable for women to hate themselves and each other?

Are men dividing and conquering women?? Is this why patriarchal society has existed for ages? Cause women keep oppressing each other and their own selves?

  1. I think you're reading waaay too much into this. It's less that it's acceptable to call the average woman that, and more that people really hate Hillary. Don't assume that hating Hillary is the equivalent of hating women in general. Many people that have a respect for women in general are willing to show a lack of respect for an individual woman because she's done something to s***w it up.

It's also similar to black person using a racial slur against another african american. It's acceptable because it's a common factor between the two. It's almost a different word when used like that.

I don't like the way rap songs refer to women, I see that in the context that you've taken the remark to Mccain, but you've added a stigma to that one that simply isn't there.

  2. They probely laughed to cover up their embarresment, or because they thought it was stupid. I for one dont think it is exceptable to call other women those names.(and I'm a teenage not an old lady) Some people might do it but don't charecterize all women for doing it.

  3. it is because of cultural background... and not gender...

we all should have civic sense... and follow decency... while speaking...

  4. women don't get along because they are all fighting for one thing and one thing only; men. and the only thing stopping them from gettting men is other women.

  5. Well i call my male friends derogatory names in a joking manner.  I think your an idiot stop reading into things so much.

  6. because we find it entertaining and comical; their "insults."

  7. let me put it to you this way: my husband and i play warcraft. we have a five year old daughter. she decided that since mom and dad play she should too. we said ya why not? it'd be cute. and what we heard from her was disturbing while she was learning to play the game: Look mom! i killed it before it killed me!! (also) AHH IT"S GOING TO KILL ME! (and then) oh NO! im dead!....

things you should not be hearing from a normal five year old.

she no longer plays warcfaft. we make certain that we NEVER play around her. (didnt before, but now it's even stricter)

what im trying to say is that in  this day and age people tend to be desensitized to violence in general, and while "hoe" and the other word are pretty nasty, it's been in use for so long and so casually that it has lost it's meaning. In the kitchen (im a chef) i've had to train the young boys out of saying "wow we got raped on saturday night" if we happened to get very busy in the kitchen. they understand and even teach the new people who come in that this word is unnacceptable and will not be tolerated around me. i had one guy say "why cause you got raped and now it upsets you?" he is no longer working with us, because of that attitude. besides the fact that it's not his business(but no i never have been) it just shows you how readily acceptable violence is in general. it's in our speech, it's all around us in newspapers, television etc etc. ad nauseum. and the only thing i can suggest to combat it is to not allow it around you. it makes people think about what they are saying and even if it's for a second it will make a difference. zero tolerance to violent speech. the boys in my kitchen are better for it i think. and since i've trained it out of them in the work force (for now, and permanently i hope) they are more likely to use appropriate language in the company of others!

i dont know if i answered your question, or just threw my two cents in, but you posed a question which really hits close to home. language is so important. why do we demoralize eachother with it?? especially since we seemingly mean it in a jovial manner?

  8. ....as with many other words in this country, people make too much out of it, ,....the word "b*tch"...is ...no big deal....yet some are making into be.

...i dont know where you get your information, but...i think its lacking in fact.

  9. I don't know either and I'm a woman. It's degrading to call other women that because we're supposed to be here for each other. It just goes to show how corrupted our society is becoming. There is an unspoken competition between women that I can sense...like boyfriends. It's like a cat fight for the win. I don't understand it. I don't judge others regardless, but I know we're only humans and it's subconsiously done. What the world needs now, is love, sweet love. :)

  10. "Mother"....poor relationship with mother.

  11. This is a good question! I can see you have nothing but respect for women.

Much like any racial slur or pejorative comment, the use of the word is entirely dependent on the context and motivation behind saying it. There are no "bad words." Any swear word can be a very beautiful word if used in the same circumstance; the same thing can be said for any slur.

I think some women have been conditioned to compete with other women. It's a fairly common theme in mythology and history, so it's likely just an extension of that.

  12. I don't think its normal for woman to call eachother names. I don't think its right. I have many woman friends and we all get along fine.

  13. it depends on the sense of how the word(s) is used. like, WHO is calling me a b*tch. me and my best friend always answer the phone "hey b*tch, what's up?" jokingly. But if we were arguing and she said "stop being such a b*tch!!" then I would get pissed off. As for the situation you described, of course mccain supporters are going to dislike hillary and call her a b*tch. such is politics. she's his competition. personally, i think it's better to get ahead in politics by being smart and witty instead of throwing words like that around.

  14. Well men is what started these words women caught on

It is just like it is non acceptable for white people to say the N word

Women just do not know what to say to the other one so they start using those kind of terms in order to make them self look good and make the other person look bad

***** is a female dog > Female Word

I do not know how the H word caught on but I guess women already perform this kind of deed to swear,

Men  did start the word, this aggression starts at jealousy and envy... and goes from there

  15. hah  i agree with the first person. lol. anyway, we dont get along well, women are catty and men usually arent. thats why we like to befriend men. its really no big deal. chill. (but i do think it was wrong for them to say that about hilary. i want her to win.)

  16. I don't do this, and hopefully I count as someone.

So hopefully now you can relax. Make sure you don't go around calling everyone b*****s and hoes, and it's all good.

  17. Guys call eachother b*****s, too. It does denote a female, yes, but there are terms that we hate worse (c--t or Tw-t for example), and we try to pick out battles over the words used to demean us.

    Besides, Clinton IS a *****! :P

  18. Today's music integrates infectious beats with misogynistic lyrics. Such lyrics largely objectify women and convey that it is acceptable to refer to women as "b*****s" and "hos".  In turn our youth grow up thinking that this is acceptable. Back in the prime of the Baby Boomers, lyrics had everything to do with the music--lyrics made the music. Artists like Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix were placed on pedestals as revolutionary lyricists. These artists promoted change and harmony in their works...these artists defined an era.

Many "artists" promote the objectification of women in both their hits and music videos. Most rappers have no idea what the implications of their lyrics are; they do not understand how greatly this music actually affects its listeners. By listening to such rap and hip-hop, individuals think that it is okay to refer to women unfavorably--they see women as simply sexual objects, not human beings. This distinction further separates the sexes in the race towards equality. Instead of accelerating this race, the teachings of rap and hip-hop lyrics only r****d this action.

It is very very sad that young women and old alike are accepting of this behaviour. Personally, call me a ***** to my face and see what happens!:)

  19. well that's just a loving way for a woman to say "hey." lol

  20. I think you need to calm down.

  21. It's because FEMALES ARE CATTY....yes we are....Were easily jealous of one another and well lets face it every female wants to look better than the other and have the GUY...But yet some fail to realise that when a girl call another girl a b*tch she's also talking about herself...The name came from men (since it means female dog) and have gone on being used by other men and now us girls are using it....So now when it's heard its like "Wow i've heard that one before" So it's no big deal to people now....

  22. I have never used that term, just I have never used the N term either.

Why are you 'blaming men for dividing and conquering women' ~ especially without attempting to give evidence to your claim?  And, Why is that a Woman will not only accept that term from some men, but then go and use it on other women'?

As you wrote above > When that women asked John McCain about Hillary "How do we beat the B****?" <  it was (I gather) a Woman who used that term to denigrate another woman, it was NOT a man.

    Sash.

  23. yes women secretly hate each other. They do not show it in public, yet when they are with others the hate rains down from the heavans!!

  24. they can call each other btchs but if a guy calls them that they get mad.  im not racist but its kinda like black people calling each other the n word being friendly but if a white person calls them that then its racist and they get their @ss beat.  it has nothing to do with hating each other or themselves.  its just no one else can call them that except themselves.

  25. I dont know. It seems like women keep getting degraded, because we had a class discussion on the election and many boys kept saying that a woman cant do what men can and it pissed many people off. Although, many friends call each others that, so maybe she was joking? I dont think its acceptable though.

  26. What...?

Where have you been for over 100,000 years.

Women have always been like that and always will till they grow up..

Why do you think god is male...lol

He only put women here to annoy us...lol

  27. Wow I would never do that!

But then I'm L*****n so love women lol.

    Thanks for you question

  28. Because Mr. Rogers was wrong, *****.

  29. Women are cruel. Sometimes women hate me just because I'm hotter then them. I'm being dead serious I have people hate me from the get, just because I'm attractive.  Which works in my favor I guess because I have really hot friends.

As for women calling women b*tches, it's just todays world. I can call my friends b*tches and men can't, just like black people can call each other n*ggers and I can't. (Not that I would want to.. calm down)
