Why do women think they are the authority to critique other women's looks?

Question

You see this usually against celebrities, or really, anytime a woman has her portrait at display.

My question is- why do the women in audience feel they are the authority to determine and discern what is attractive or not?

You hear a lot of women critique others on details or their full appearance>> now I'm not gonna say that every woman who has her picture on display on tv or the net is gonna be flawless, but in reality, who are these women to comment? Are these girls all gorgeous in their own right? (I am talking to a few of you specifically ive seen on this site myself). I mean, you must look fantastic right- if you're over here giving this woman beauty tips and trying to explain to us what's attractive in a woman and what is not.

Well the women who are talking about others are just stuck up.They think there s*** dont stink,and guess what it does.  It makes them feel better about themselves if they put others down.  They need to get a life,if they think making fun of people is the right thing to do.It is true"beauty is in the eye of the beholder"  what one person thinks is ugly could be the most beautiful thing to another....great words to live by....

these types of women are usually just picking at another woman. i do it too.  if i see a woman prettier than me, i'll find something about her that is a bad traid.  i'm not gonna lie.  it's jealousy.  i'm not a jealous person, but if i want a body like that chick's body, i'm gonna saw something good about it and then point out her flaws.  it's a woman thing.  cat like.  woman are stupid and like to pick fights and c**p like that.  i'm not sure i have any authority over anybody except my children of course, so i'm with you there.

They think they are the authority on EVERYTHING.

But we all know better than that. Men run most things at the end of the day. And MEN decide what makes a woman attractive because MEN are the ones who actually DATE women.

It's just criticism. Just like everything else, you don't have to be "superior" to be able to critique; everyone has their own standard of beauty and no one is stopping them from letting everyone else know.

Going by your logic, no one would be allowed to say anything bad about one's superior  -- which is very much not the case.

I however, do see your point: what gave them the right to talk like that, especially when they're not anything special? Well, nothing can be done, to be honest. Just remember that they're nobody important and the same goes for their unsolicited opinion

when i say which women i like its the same as i say which men i like. its a fantasy threesome i am picking them out for really and its just my own personal preference who i would have s*x with.i wouldnt try to explain to anyone who they should find attractive i am just pointing out the ones i find sexually attractive.

(i am talking about celebrities here as i havent ever commented on the looks of anyone on this site)

Me and my husband always watch TV and say shes fit and then the other one agrees or says not so much. I wouldnt say that was picking on anyone.
