  1. men don't care about what the fashion trend is,girls do it because they are slaves to those liars who write those magazines.

we don't bother listening to stuff like that.

  2. So men dont follow trends?? and fashion?

You mean to tell me that all those guys came up with the stupid baggy pants idea on there own!  please.

  3. I admire strong and accomplished women, I guess you could say that when I was a teen, they were role models. As far as appearance, I always liked to make my own style. For instance, I was in the habit of mixing vintage clothes with the styles of the time. It was mixed up, but coordinated. Example 1930's style fur coat over jeans and vintage jewelry.

Men have their role models too, they admire skills in other men that they would like to have. At the same time, they want to be appreciated individually for their own uniqueness, like anyone else.

  4. I don't know if this is true or not.  But if it is true, a reasonable hypothesis is the different genetic endowment and/or socialization of men versus women.  Women have a need / desire to associate and form strong links and bonds with one another.  One way of establishing these links and bonds is to mimic one another.  Men on the other hand are more likely to be rivals, particularly for the attention of women.  Therefore, they want to be viewed as distinct.

The exception, of course, is during adolescence, when both males and females feel the need to strongly align with the group.

  5. Some do ,some don't. I still can't figure out why even those who answer find it so easy to pigeon hole the entire gender. Not ALL are like those generalizations. Yet question after question, answer after answer "men this" and "women that"

  6. Actually, it's quite noted to be the other way around.  Men, within men's society, get preyed upon severely by each other for being "different" and that explains why to this day men have "flocking" behaviors especially evident in their clothing.  Women, on the other hand, have enjoyed greater freedom of range in fashion expression. Look at how men dress when in flocks:

  7. James, perhaps some women do, but I do not.  I would like to be seen as me, just me, only me and be the best person I can be, even if I am not perfect, even if I am a woman, even if I am not Miss America.  I am a special person as me.

  8. Ummm.... as for myself, I am very satisfied with my appearance, and my personality.... I don't envy other women, because I admire them so much!!!  ;)

  9. wish you wudda said 'most' women because I stopped wanting to follow the herd when I was 17 when I learned and accepted that I was 'different' - I followed my own heartbeat from then on and haven't regretted a day.

  10. REALLY? it's new to me. I thought men hardly can accept things different from themselves unlike women, which is why men have more tendencies to make racist remarks, etc.

  11. Some women are like that, but not all. I want to be me. I don't care what the other women are doing, if I did I would be a STD infested s**t who's had at least 5 abortions and a severe eating disorder. Not to mention 7 or 8 stays in some sort of rehab. for my drug and alcohol problems. I am sorry that's just not me. Unfortunately alot of women think that its cool to do what ever the celebrities are doing. Too bad the celebrities are leading very shameful lives.

  12. It's simply not true that ALL women want to be like other women, and no men do, or that ALL men want to be different than other men, and NO women do.

A LOT of women (to take "appearance" as a kind of example) dress to be daring and stand out.

I know no women who want to be like other women in personality.

I don't know what being like other women "relationships" means. Most PEOPLE prefer being in relationships, men and women.

  13. women want to be like other women and men want to be like other men, dont disregard that, but the difference is that jealousy that motivates women to be like other women, mostly appearance that pulls their attention but to men its personality

  14. What nonsense. They don't.

  15. because were men and we value originality and innovation, but women only care about magazines to tell them what to do/wear/look like, etc.

  16. Men definitely try to be the same as other men. I am not sure where you are from, but it's like that everywhere I've been. Men aren't inherently superior as you'd like to believe, my friend.

  17. I think it's a huge generalization to suggest that women want to be like other women. I am a woman and I do not strive to be like other women or unlike them; it's not an issue of gender more an issue of individual people.

Depending on the perspective women do try to be different to other women  in the same way that men try to be different to other men. It appears to me so far that women try to be different by being the sexiest/prettiest etc Men try to be different to other men by being the most masculine/strongest etc

Although I don't personally agree with women or men competing against each other or defining ourselves by gender; that has been my experience so far with the exception of some individuals.

  18. "c'mon cliffy" got it right, I think.
