Why do women who have babies receive so much Federal help yet I receive Nothing? ?

I'm single. Many poor, single women that I know have babies in Northern Michigan. They get a lot of County, State, and Federal Assistance. Much of the assistance that they receive doesn't go to helping the babies. STOP Rewarding People. in fact, most of it---doesn't go to the babies and children.

who are you to judge other people.  POOR is the keyword in that sentance.  these women (although some are just taking advantage of the system) probably are trying their hardest to do the best for their families and getting help from the government is what is helping them get through the rough patch.  Some women dont even want to get help but they do what they gotta do to make ends meet and take care of their children. I think it is rude of you to even judge them or decide that you know how they are spending the money that is given to them in their time of need.  

Stop complaining.

Why? You just said the magic word "Poor women" ....That is why...And how do you know how they spend the money?

I know here in Kentucky someone that recieves welfare only gets $172.00 a month.....Tell me who could even live on that? How can you pay bills and buy things that are needed with less than 200 bucks a month. Yea they may get foodstamps too but it is not like they are getting thousands of bucks a month in them.

If you are making money, more than others then that is why you do not qualify.

the same thing happens over here in australia even if u ain't  single and u have children u still governmentnt help and yes most of the time it doesn't go to the kids but it goes towards feeding them and clothing them i reckon that they should only give out food and clothing vouches and not cash i rekon that if they stoped the payments there wouldn't be so many kids having kids if u no what i mean

Have you looked at the price of diapers/formula/other necessities the baby needs? If I could get assistance, I def would use it.

Well unfortunately thats were the break down is, the government is better off giving these women baby vouchers or food vouchers etc.  I know it sucks but the government is not REWARDING these women as such they are tryin to do what is right by the babies, and unfortunately there are a few mums who abuse that and use it for other things that some would suggest are unecessary.  You have to know quite  a vast amount of single mums to make such a broad rationalisation of poor single mothers.
