Why do you all hate the NRA?

Everyone treats it as an ignorant relic, like the Confederate Flag or something. First of all no political figure has the right to take our right to our guns, because he/she has armed government guards to protect them. Even the "unbiased" public school system treats it like a scar from an old society, and has practically re-interpreted the 2nd amendment to give only states the right to militia not citizens the right to guns. That is how they taught it to me, even though it is obviously written to give the right to bear arms to all citizens.

Only liberals and progressives that don't understand history hate the NRA and even some liberals like the NRA. I've never heard of a conservative not liking the NRA unless they whine about the NRA not going on the attack and being pro-gun enough.

People whom fear guns do so out of ignorance and media mind conditioning. You know the saying that humans wish to destroy that which they don't understand because it scares them? That is how anti-gun liberals think. Now I'm not in the NRA but I plan to join. They need all the help they can get with the liberal smear machine already making up lies about Palin.

No, you usually get bombarded with anti's in the hunting section but they are quickly reported and dealt with.

I don't hate them.

But I don't support them, or respect them.

They are more interested in war cheerleading, babbling about hunting, and in spouting racist "anti-crime" rhetoric, than they are in supporting the Second Amendment.

If the NRA wasn't an automatic rubber-stamp for Republicans, and the occasional Democrat, I would be more likely to think they might be supportable. But they are joined at the hip to the two capitalist parties.

And they defend the rich and their government, rather than risk their fancy offices and high salaries in defending working people's right to keep and bear arms.

We have the right to bear arms.  However, that doesn't give me the right to keep a tank or a SCUD missile in my back yard.  There is obviously a grey area between owning a BB gun and owning a missile launcher and the NRA tends to be on the SCUD side of the argument with police dept's being more on the BB gun side.

Hey, its a fair debate, but personally, I'm glad the NRA is advocating for my personal liberty as I am glad others are advocating for public safety.  Its all good and in my view there's no bad guys here except those unwilling to find compromise.

I think that most see it as an organization that is so right-winged that they would love to own machine guns, and probably tanks! They don't exactly help their cause. Roe V Wade will be overturned, not the 2nd Amendment!

Bearing arms is one thing, AK47's are another!

If you want to shoot an assault weapon join the army.

I bet you could buy an assault weapon on the street though!
