  1. Because I've spent a lot of time researching the subject, have a pretty good understanding of the science, and think it's worth my time to share that knowledge.  The more people are informed, the better off we all are.  Especially with regards to global warming, which is probably the greatest threat ever faced by mankind.

  2. I answer because I believe there is still hope to convince people that global warming is not true. If you wish to see some of my knowledge, simply go to my profile and see the questions I answered.

I get nothing out of this. I provide the questioner with the true information and I always separate these 3 things.

    Fact.

    Opinion.

    Theory.

  3. I answer because i hope to show some people that global warming as already an accepted fact among the intelligent community and many people are ready to move forward and solve this problem. Unfortunately many people still refuse to face the facts and demand "proof" when this is a matter that cannot be proven, but it has already been backed up by data enough so that known that global warming is a problem. Also i like to teach some people here that the ozone hole and global warming are completely separate problems. There only similarity is that they are dangerous and caused by human activity.

  4. I answer here because of all the misinformation presented by the main stream media. Hopefully, I can open up some eyes and help them to research the issue and come up with their own opinion, not a one sided view presented by the media.

I am also pretty confident that if they are educated on the matter, they to will realize it is all a bunch of c**p.

  5. Its a opportunity to learn and express my thoughts on the issue.

  6. Logic, rebellion, fun way to spend spare time, getting the global warming believers angry, etc.

  7. inform those who really want to know, limit damage from those who want to disinform.

and occasionally just swing about wildly with my big axe....

  8. The green house gas is not there how can it be the cause of GW.

  9. For me - interest and the ability to practice what I do for a living.  I talk about these things.  My job is to translate "science speak" into something the rest of us can understand.

Also - I love science and I can't stand to see it misrepresented or misunderstood.  It pains me at how ignorant of science and 'skepticism' folks really are at a very basic level.

If I can change just one person... if someone like Jello would actually take the effort to go visit their HS science teacher...

    That would rock!

  10. Because i don't believe in manmade global warming and want to debunk it... Just doing my part.

  11. A LINK TO HELP OTHERS IN DELETING GLOBAL WARMING, SO THAT PEOPLE CAN LIVE IN PEACE AGAIN. THIS MEANS ALL DISASTERS RETURN TO NORMAL SIZE THAT SOME OF US HAVE ACQUIRED A SOLUTION FOR AND ALL ATTITUDES WOULD RETURN TO NORMAL NATURALLY, BUT THIS CANT GET DONE UNTIL ALL OF US HELP TO RETURN NATURE TO NORMAL NATURALLY, BECAUSE ANY OTHER WAY WOULD BE DEVASTATING FOR ALL LIFE ON EARTH

  12. A better life for my children and grandchildren.  And, for all of you.

I'll be gone before the worst of this hits, in any event.

  13. As a geologist, environmental consultant, conservative and someone who has seen the effects of communism on a population first hand, I want counter what I consider exaggerations and misconceptions from some that are following along with a movement that started long ago.  The socialist clearly abuse the environmental agendas from the Endangered Species Act, to protection of wetlands, to Global Warming.  It is a tool of a movement I see as extremely dangerous to our freedom and prosperity and that has very little redeeming value.

  14. I answer in this category,  because i hope to show people that global warming is a growing problem, and will be a huge problem soon. I also want to educate people abut it, and help others that have accepted it, to try to save our planet! Though, with my hope to save it and educate others, many people still refuse to face the facts that global warming exists. Whether this is due to ignorance, religion, or plain resistance it must be stopped. If it's not our planet will soon shrivel to nothingness and its beauty will be lost. If this happens my children, grandchildren , even great-grandchildren will not see the clear azul summer days or the crisp vibrant night. Instead, they'll see grey gloom, and strangling darkness, no stars. If this happens we have no other people to blame than ourselves, the human race.

As for me myself I now find myself wondering about the world when i am alone and finding myself in aw that I can't awnser these nagging questions, "Would it be better if we hadn't developed? Would the world still have contained its vast untouched beauty?". Imagine a world with no lights exept the stars and the sun. No buildings streching for the skies. No guns. What would that world be like? Just animals, oceans, seas, and trees. Would everything be more content than it is now? Would the world be right?

Though no matter of trhose questions the world is in our hands now. Whether we save it or not is our choice. But we would have to work together, every place in the world. Are we able to do that? Are we capable of that power? These are the questions that must guide us on the jurney to save our world. For we to will die if it is not saved. It gave us life, we need to return its favor. But this is only me, it needs to be you to. This is my purpose of helping others to understand our world better. Either in or out of the cyber world. We are the only ones that can help our world, to educate others of this is my purpose to go on Yahoo awnsers. THis is why I'm here.

  15. I saw in an ad a link to Leonardo DiCaprio's global warming question and I thought it was in interesting venue.  Something clicked and I spent months writing an essay to publish there, and I read all 10,000 answers.

Writing has helped me greatly to codify thoughts that were floating around in my head for years.  Now when I get into a discussion (the exact same types that occur here, positive and negative) I am ready to confirm or debunk with conviction and authority.

I've always been an "environmentalist" but I set it aside for a long time.  After seeing an entire generation sell out, at the same time watching our society brook threshold after threshold, becoming more desensitized every time, I began to believe that the fight was pointless.

There's more, but it's too painful to share.  Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I mean painful for you and our other readers.  I've already dealt with it.

But now the inevitable worldwide crisis is upon us.  And this time it comes with irrefutable internationally collaborated scientific evidence; and alot of publicity.

It is beyond morally disgusting and repugnant that the reactionary forces of demagoguery are conspiring to maintain the status quo, despite all reason to the contrary.  If there is a word for this, please let me know.

My father brought me a book called "Chemistry By Experiment" when I was eight years old, and many more after that, and to him I owe a great debt.  I'm not a professional scientist, I could have been if circumstances were different, but I know science having studied it endlessly and I try to live my life according to its principles.

I will not stand by while these (also need a word here) people shamelessly make a mockery of it.

I wish to add one more voice of sanity in the world.  Every bit we do now will mean that much more to those who will have to deal with this mess.
