  1. I believe in God, I believe in Angels.

I do NOT believe in faeries.  Faerie-sized angels, maybe.  :-)

  2. Because God interacts with my life every day.

  3. No.  None of the above.

  4. I don't.

    ____

  5. Nope...

  6. Why not? Its more interesting...

  7. I have said something similar in another answer but the basis of all belief is faith. I am not a religious man - I think that science works and we should pursue it; and though it may not give us all the answers the ones it does give us will be much clearer than most of the alternatives.

That's my personal opinion but what I have to accept is that since science has not proved everything, my belief structure rests on certain funding assumptions that I cannot prove. It is a matter of faith that I believe that the answers to these questions will be ratified in time.

Dragging myself back to the point of your question - spiritual beliefs are based on faith too, no-one can offer conclusive proof of their truth but likewise no-one can offer conclusive proof of their falsity either. For whatever reason a person has come to believe something it is ultimately only they themselves who can convince themselves otherwise.

Why do we believe the sun will rise tomorrow? Even a vast number of experimental observations can be disproved as a law by one null result.

    Cheers

  15. I believe in angels because you exist. =)

  16. Fairies?  Do you find many modern individuals who believe in fairies?  Or are you just equating the belief in God to the belief in fairies...?

Do you want to believe in God?  I believe in God, and I believe that he loves me.  He has answered too many of my prayers to be ignored.  Coincidence is only credible when it is occasional.  I have had hundreds of spiritual experiences that have led me to rely on God.  He is always there for me.

Do you need help, in order to believe that there is a God?  Read the Book of Mormon and sincerely pray to know whether it is true.  A promise in the Book of Mormon itself assures us that God will answer our sincere prayer, and reveal the truth to us through the Holy Ghost.   This is how I gained my testimony of God, and of the Book of Mormon.

The Book of Mormon is strong evidence that there is a God who sends angels to speak to prophets.  It reveals things that were unknown at the time of Joseph Smith, but have since been corroborated by scientific investigation.  Let me give you just a couple of examples of many.  Do you know what a Qasid is?  It is the oldest known form of Arabic poetry.  There is a perfect Qasid in the first book of the Book of Mormon.  It was created by someone who was journeying across southern Arabia circa 600 BC.  There is no chance at all that Joseph Smith, the poorly educated farmboy, had the slightest idea what a Qasid was when he translated the entire contents of the Book of Mormon.  Do you know what a Chiasm is?  It is an ancient form of Hebrew poetry where ideas are repeated in reverse order.  There are many chiasms in the Book of Mormon, and some are quite complex.  These two ancient literary devices were unknown at the time of Joseph Smith.  No one alive during the time of Joseph Smith could have written the Book of Mormon, let alone Joseph Smith himself.  These are just two of hundreds of very compelling evidences that the Book of Mormon is what it claims to be - an ancient record where prophets described the events of their day, and the prophecies of God, and the visions that they had seen.

  18. God because of personal experiences.  Not angels, fairies or ghosts though.  If I experience them, I reserve the right to change my mind.
