  1. Its a nice euphemism.

But actually, I've been to many restrooms which have comfortable chairs & sofas to rest on.  Usually in dept stores.  After shopping, its nice to rest ones feet & self in one of the 'restrooms.'

I wonder.  Are there any men's rooms which have chairs and sofas?

  2. If you've been to the women's room in Nordstom's Department store you would definiely want to rest...it has couches and a seperate sitting room

  3. it's called that because you feel "stressed/heavy" just before letting out those stuff,

when you're done, you actually feel "rested"

  4. probably for the same reason Hawaii has an interstate.....

  5. Just because it sounds better. When most people go to the "bathroom," they don't take a bath, either.

The term "restroom" could be partially correct, but only for women. Men's rooms don't have couches and chairs.

Washroom? That's getting a little closer, but washing is only a secondary effort after taking care of the primary business.

I guess if they called the room what it's really used for, too many people would be offended.

  6. you rest your azz on the toilet seat and let out your stools. hehehe

  7. I rest on the toilet.
