  1. Actually, I clean my tank only once every, like, 8 months. It's healthier for your fish if you do that. Hope This Helps!!


  2. If you have a large aquarium with a healthy growth of plants plus a good filtration system. Cleaning should not be a chore.

    A regular 25% change of water is good to prevent the build up of minerals.

    Smaller aquaria are more likely to be overstocked with build up of ammonia and nitrates. So with these water changes are more important. Fish keeping is a brilliant hobby so get a fishkeeping magazine or visit the library or check out online sources for more information.

  3. Basically you clean a fish tank just for the sake of keeping it clean.  It's the same mentality of cleaning your home: you want it to look nice.  It's also unhealthy for the fish to have dirty water.  Of course, with the right kind of fish tank, you could always just have a filter installed.
