I was just wondering why people would use their cell phones while driving. Can I get personal testimonials of why you guys use cell phones while driving?

  1. Because I'm stupid.  I'm an adult and I realize that  I have the potential for causing an accident because I'm on the phone, yet I do it anyway.  I feel bad now :(

  2. Personally, I use a cell phone to answer calls because my business depends upon promptly responding to customers. I don't try to take notes, and I limit the duration of the call, or pull over. Having a hands-free arrangement makes a very big difference, but it is still a distraction. People usually understand when you tell them you are driving and ask to call them back.

  3. Driving across the country, I talk on the cell phone to break up the boredom, BUT I use a headset when I talk which it totally legal. When I am home, I don't even take my cell with me when I run errands since I am not that important that I have to be available at all times!!!

  4. because i can. I know how to multitask.

  5. because if I dont answer it my wife will think im having a affair!!!!!

  6. Because it’s my job. I am a mobile salesman for a big company.

If I did not answer a call while driving the company would not exist, and thats a few hundred people out of a job. The only time my phone is off is when I am in a meeting.

My best friend is a plumber and cannot survive without a cell phone, its the same instance for my girlfriend and other friends. Although my girlfriend can’t multitask at the best of times...

  7. i would think its the same thing as having a conversation with the passengers. and besides there blue tooth now. i think thats better than holding the other phone. other than than...if you are not focus on your driving any accidents can happen..even if you dont use your cell phone and just being absent minded or talking to a passenger.

  8. i have bluetooth so it's handsfree, but i only use it when necessary & make the call very brief

  9. I dont...

I leave the car at home and walk or ride my bike, and my phone is usually in my backpack for emergency only
