  1. I don't follow any religion.

  2. I was a Catholic, but I have my own beliefs now which I guess could be gnostic (look up agnostic and gnostic, there IS a difference).

I follow it because it brings me peace.  It doesn't matter to me if it's right or wrong or real or fake.  I just enjoy the peace I get from it.

  3. I don't have a religion...I have a personal relationship with the Creator of Heaven and Earth, Jesus Christ. And I've decided to follow Jesus because He is the one and true God and He suffered and died for my sins on the cross and then rose again on the third day! : )

  4. i don't follow any religion, i read my Bible and pray and believe in the Word.

  5. EXCEllent ques

Christian Methodist....its beautiful and Im born again!!

  6. I realized I was a  Satanist when I read the Satanic Bible.  It is a real rational logical philosophy that is void of all of the occult non-sense you get from spiritual religions.  Satanism is based on things that are real, other religions are not

  7. Jewish.

Very open to the idea of Judaism just not convinced 100% by religoun in general.

I may possibly in the future become more religous.

  8. My religion is Unity. It's non-denominational Christian.

I don't really "follow" it - I use it as a tool for learning. And I like the people at my particular church so I enjoy communing with them.

As to why - Unity is (in my opinion) embraces a belief that we co-create our reality with God. It puts the responsibility for my life in my hands and no one elses. We are always looking for the truth and don't believe it is written in stone. I find that most members are very positive, open-minded people.

  9. Why do I follow my religion?  Because when I tried to lead it, they threatened to nail me up to a tree.

Edit:  sorry for the cheeky answer.  I guess someone pissed in my cheerios this morning.

    I'm a pantheist.

  10. Do you know when you are doing a project, it's better to decide on your objectives and do everything to satisfy them. This is why I follow my religion Islam.

Islam is not just a religion, it's a way of life. You get rewarded for working, helping people, eating, smiling, and even having s*x (with you spouse of course)

Islam explains the reason of creation, then teach you how to live according to how your creater wants you to live in order to satisfy the objectives of your creation, which is worshipping God and spreading peace and justice in the world.

Unfortunately, a lot of people nowadays misinterpret Islam, including some Muslims. I suggest you read about Islam yourself to understand what I'm saying.

  11. I follow Satanism because the Satanic Bible is based on reality.  And that is all I can ask for from a religion.  Other religions are too busy with supernatural mumbo jumbo that has nothing to do with this world

  12. Not so much religion, I TRY more to follow the Bible.

    Born again, non denominational

19 Rather they had certain points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, who was dead, but whom Paul asserted to be alive.

  13. There was a time i just followed it because i was raised into it.  Now i am reading more about my own religion  to know what i am actually following  it but i still have a long way to go there are still too many things i do not understand all i know is that now i truly believe in God.  I was an atheist or at least i did have my doubts for a while about God too.

  14. answer: Reconstruction Heathenism (aka Germanic/Anglo-Saxon paganism)

I was raised Christian but never seemed to fit in or understand (or believe.)  I prayed, I asked, I begged, I tried for 15 years to get some kind of answer in Christianity, to make it fit. I only felt lonely and out of place. The doubts and questions weren't answered logically and I never felt "saved".  I never reached the level of belief.  I became an adult and kept trying with no success.

I reread the Bible, listened to preachers condemning me and saying AIDS was God’s punishment on homosexuals and studied the bible. Studying the bible did it finally.  I decided that wasn’t for me.  I couldn’t worship the deity in Christianity.  I never found the “loving” god so I stopped trying and looked elsewhere. Alcohol didn’t work and only messed up my life so that ended quick.

I was Wiccan for 10 years and that was MUCH closer to what I was looking for but not quite it.  Having gods and goddesses made perfect sense to me.  Eclectic paganism had been close but not exactly what I was looking for.

I began exploring my ethnic roots (going through Native American traditions, Celtic paganism and then I found heathenism.  It took 10 years before I found the deities and religion waiting for me.  From the moment that I picked up a book on heathenism I knew what I had been missing.  I continued reading what little was available (two good ones, a couple of miserable ones) and it was like a lightbulb going on in my head and life.  Now I have that challenge, love, acceptance, and encouragement I was looking for in Christianity without the threats of h**l or requiring me to change my orientation.

Heathenism sings to my very nature.

As part of a Reconstruction religion, it's exciting because we question everything and that's welcomed. New information is found every year that lends insight into the religion of our ancestors. Personal insight and experience also is welcome in the religion but is taken with "a grain of salt".

Everything is questioned until verified or it remains in a nebulous state in the religion.

My deities don't want me to grovel to them or turn the other cheek to an enemy. They want me to live honorably and always question, seeking knowledge and honor them, my family, my friends, my ancestors and my self.

Freedom, Tolerance, Boldness/Courage, Self Rule, Moderation, Steadfastness, Generosity/Hospitality, Truth, Equality/Justice, Family Responsibility/ Community, Honor, Strength, Troth/ Loyalty, Self Reliance, Wisdom

  15. All religions came from one God.

I am a member of the Baha'i Faith. Over a quarter of a century of study and many years of confirmation since then. It is more spirit filled than anything else I have ever found and its logic confounds the most intelligent and rational Atheist. Besides, isn't it about time for world peace? I came up with this slogan in the last day or so. Like it?

Time for world peace? Time for the Baha'i Faith!

(This one got me blocked by the asker) Do atheists need to remember that all religion is the enemy to which no mercy should be shown?

    ============

The Jews await the Messiah, the Christians the return of Christ, the Moslems the Mahdi, the Buddhists the fifth Buddha, the Zoroastrians Shah Bahram, the Hindus the reincarnation of Krishna, and the Atheists - a better social organization! Baha'u'llah represents all these, and thus destroys the rivalries and the enmities of the different religions; reconciles them in their primitive purity, and frees them from the corruption of dogmas and rites.

  16. I am human. I lead a better life than animals because I have been bestowed with wisdom and reason. I use these faculties to find out that my life is not without purpose. According to Holy Quran purpose of creating man is to worship the Lord.

Islam teaches me how to worship the Lord 5 times a day and lead a content and happy life. I enjoy praying and behaving with fellow humans in the light of Holy Quran. It is a full time religion.

If you are looking for a good, purposeful and rewarding life, turn to Allah. He takes good care of His creation.

  17. I don't. I follow myself and the universe.

  18. I don't follow any human made religion; I follow the religion of God and Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.  I follow the word of God, as the true word (Holy Scriptures/Bible), and that there is only one God.  I will follow my beliefs/religion because is gives me back the glories, graces and the mercies of God and Jesus Christ, that have been promised.

    GOD BLESS YOU!    AMEN!      SHALOM!

  19. Heathen.  Germanic reconstructionist with various affiliations.

Because I find the familial nature and focus of the pre-christian European culture to be ideal and something missing in our modern world.  Because I find the idea of accountability to your family and the community more pertinent than accountability to some distant god who can't even follow his own rules.  Because I find the notion that the gods of a people are bound and obligated according to the same laws as the people themselves to be extremely honorable and worthy of praise.  Because a person's name should mean something, as should that person's family -- to the person as well as the community.  Because, the anomie created by christianity and modern society can easily be combated by the return to the tight-knit social organism of the family and community.

I could go on, but that will suffice.

  20. The most common answer should be: "Because my parents followed it"
