  1. When you cut off or severely reduce your circulation, the blood vessels close up and you get pins and needles, when released they open up and the blood starts to flow and that will stop the pins and needles after awhile, It is best not to make a habit of this as you can cause blood clots and that will be very serious, I had to have a major operation for this in my leg, and also it has led to me getting a heart attack living a blood clot in my heart causing it to swell up.

To prevent this do not lean on anything to long, a massage of any lightly affected areas helps, and do not sit too long without getting up and walking about.

  2. some scientists believe its due to the small metaflopsies, and the slighlty larger parabostles attacking the body. this only happens if the patient leaves the body part unguarded for a long period of time. this allows the previosly mentioned micro organisms to start attacking.

  3. Because the weight of your body stops blood circulation to that area of the body. When you start to use the body part, you get a pins and needles sensation because your veins are carrying an enormous surge of blood filling all your cells and strenching your blood vessels.

  4. when you sit on your hand you restrict the circulation of the blood the pins and needles is the circulation returning to normal

  5. If you sit on your hand or foot for a certain length of time, you are blocking the flow of blood to that part of the body & it's the body's way of telling you it needs to get the supply to that part urgently.

  6. less blood circulation

basically is you sit with your knees bent you are cutting of blood circulation, after the pins and needles it will go numb

  7. It's because you are restricting your blood flow, therefore meaning that the part of your body affected is not receiving the correct amount of oxygen.

  8. Oh you stop the blood circulating  and the nerves go numb,,,  When you move  the blood circulates again and the nerves come to life   with the tinglyfeeling...

  9. I know it has something to do with the bloodflow to those limbs. And purely out of speculation, I'm guessing less blood affects your nerves somehow. Since nerves are the receptors for touch, that could explain why you "feel" pins and needles.

  10. Because you deprive that area of oxygenated blood the nerves cease to function properly. If you did it for long enough you could permantly damage them.

  11. It's only where the blood is getting to flow in that area again that gets the nerves tingling.

  12. Less blood circulation. You get it on planes alot in your feet. so if your in a plane take your shoes off because of the air pressure your feet swell.

To get rid of Pins and needles just keep moving around.

    Hope that helps =D
