  1. personally i don't know the law requirements per the center line except for passing, but i wouldn't want to ride it,that's just an invitation for a head on accident.

  2. I assume you mean the white line in the center of the road, not the one on the edge. If it was the center, you can get stopped for driving left of the center of the road. (you could get a ticket for this, but not likely) This is also a sign that the driver has had to much alcohol to drink or something is wrong and you can get pulled over so they can check.

  3. the cop was probably just trying to meet his quota

  4. Well, cops over here where I live pull you over for the smallest little thing.  I once took the wrong road, so I wanted to turn around and go back...well I went into a parking lot and turned around and got back on the road and got pulled over!  Cop told me that I didn't go far enough into the parking lot before turning around.  Mind you this was at midnight and everything was empty.  They hide everywhere, and soon as you pass by them, the take off so fast after you and ride your bumper and wait for you to do the slightest movement with your car so they can pull you over.  They are bored and trying to have fun, that's how I understood them.

  5. The law say to be centered in your lane (unless your a motorcyclist riding next to another).  If you are at the edge of your lane, you're not giving the guy in the next lane his fair space.  This is especially important in the outside lane because you're next to the bicyclists!  If your husband can not see well enough at night to drive safely, he shouldn't be driving at night!
