  2. Well, it keeps my Sanity, for i am a 37 year experienced painter/contractor that was forced to retire due to lumbar disk disease, and i am very hyper..I was raised in the country and have grown veggies all of my life..I now for a living start seeds indoors, sell seeds, seedlings, plants and veggies..However, I am definately not getting rich, but I do have a supplementary income due to my garden, and as well keep my sanity by keeping active..and when my back starts to hurt to much..I can simply walk 40 feet from my garden into my house and lay down and relax it..can't do this at a 8 or 10 hour job elsewhere..In the beneficial aspect..I enjoy canning foods(we did it as a way of life as a kid)...I love to stick a seed into soil and watch it sprout and grow, i love to eat fresh vegetables..without all the contaminants...haven't got no salmanella from my tomatoes or peppers..I know that..here have a look for yourself..

  3. They are totally fresh " right from the vine" no computer aided packaging processes, no sprayed on addatives / chemicals so they last longer on the shelf, no spiced up soil addatives / steroids so the plants produce larger sized veggies. Totally " Back-To-Nature" the way the veggies were meant to be.

And By_The_Way, no computer / addatives can beat that " SNAP" when you bite into one - that is how you know it is really fresh & natural. Not a mass produced comodity to enhance the Bottom_Line.

  4. I grow my own veggies because I like gardening and watching things grow.  I also know every step that went into growing them.  I am secure in knowing that there are no pesticides or other contaminants in my veggies.  Most importantly, should some disaster happen and the food infrastructure that society has come to depend on breaks down, I will know how to produce my own food.  It's a matter of survival.  If more people grew their own food, we could further reduce our carbon footprint on the planet.  I enjoy the challenges of gardening, which are ever-changing.  It makes me appreciate the complexity of life in all of its forms.

  5. I get extreme satisfaction from going to the garden and picking something I grew myself. It is cheaper and tastes much better.

  6. Have you ever tasted the difference between home grown fruits

and vegs and store bought ones? If you have, you already know why!

If you have not, either go to a friends who does and sample.

The taste is like the difference between maybe ice cream is to

whipping up fat free milk. That is about the only way I can compare

it, but the answer is, the taste. Unbelievably incomparable!

( and the cost is better too!)

  7. I grow my own veggies because they taste good, they're good for you, they look nice in the garden and on the plate, and it's nice to know that you can be self sufficient in some small way.

In addition it's an indescribable pleasure to be in touch with the earth and what it can give you.  I also feel a connection with my ancestry in some strange way...as humans we evolved growing and eating this stuff and somehow it feels right!
