A money saving tip: You could save a lot of money by (1) Getting rid of your house phone since anyone who would receive a call probably has a cell phone, or (2) Get a cell phone with the same number as your house phone or get a mobile house phone. Why don't you switch?

  1. I guess I have my house phone because I had it longer than my cell. People still call me through it and I don't even know if they know my cell phone.

  2. You can never use any minutes on cell phone when calling on home phone. Try calling your cable company, or Best Buy and various places and see how many minutes are wasted on your cell phone. Your cell phone eats up precious minutes by being put on hold.

  3. Because cell phone towers don't always work when the power goes out.  Land line phones work a LOT longer in an emergency situation.  About two years back, we had a violent wind storm here (U.S. Pacific coast near Seattle), and cell phone service was out for days (plus there was no way to charge cell phones because the power was out).  My land line worked just fine the entire time.

That said, my land line is ONLY for emergencies; most of my calls are on my cell.

My question to you:  Why do you care?

  4. i only have a cell no home phone

  5. because not everyone has a cellphone well here in my country and housephone costs a lot cheaper here

  6. I don't use a cell phone, or PSTN landline.

I only use VoIP for all my phone calling, over Cable Internet.  For me, VoIP is the cheapest way to go.
