Why do you have to be 21 to gamble, not 18?

Not that I want to, I couldn't really care, I'm just really curious as to why, if you are legally an adult at 18, why can't you gamble then?

I don't know the answer but in my opinion if you are old enough to go to war and fight for your country then you should be old enough to gamble, drink alcohol, and do anything else an adult wants to do (as long as its legal).

Because you ain't smart enough to gamble. It's like that for alcohol too. They just don't want you to lose all your money, okay?

It's the law.  You can't drink either.  However, you may go into the military and die for your country.  You can vote.  We have some really stupid age laws.  My opinion:  21 for all of it.  Don't send children to war.

In many casinos, there are bars. They don't want anyone who could pass for 21 to get alcohol so they just don't let anyone under 21 to get in there

Not positive, but I would guess because most people graduate college at 21, so they would be able to get a college-educated job and have less of a chance of going bankrupt.

cuz gambling is a bad addiction, just like drugs, it destroys life emotionally and financially, just like drug, affects the mind more than you think,

drinking at 18/21 will just make you overweight and is easier to control and won't create addiction as bad as gambling or drugs

I guess it depends on where you live because the gambling age where I live is 18, but you have to be 21 to drink alcohol.
