Cause when you feed the baby air gets in the babies stomach.

The reason you have to burp a baby is they can not get the gas up by themselves so you have to do it for them.  If you don't help them get the gas out they will be very uncomfortable and their stomach will get upset and cause them to either spit up or be very cranky.  As a mom you definitely don't want this cause this will cause you to get less sleep.  Good luck.

if you don't burp the baby they will have lots of air in their tummy's and you won't have a happy camper!!

baby's don't usually have the reflex to do it themselves and they need help to do it.  I guess it's also to help take the gas out of their stomach so they don't feel uncomfortable and the food digests better.

they sleep most of the time and wake up roughly every 2 hours to feed

you wouldn't want them choking on it now would you?

you have to burb a baby because they need a little assistants with getting there gas out. if you dont it will build up and hurt them giving them pains

Babys will swallow air with milk.

The excess volume will make the baby expell.

If it isn't air, it will be milk. Baby throw up looks alot like cheese.  If the baby is laying down on his back, the way the doctors tell us to, he may aspirate his own puke.  You know John Bohnam and Jimmy Hendrix died?

If the air makes it down to his intestines, the gas will make him uncomforatable, makeing the baby cry.  Then the worst part.  Farting and explosive pooping.  

So burb the baby or else.

To get all the air out, when they drink they also swallow air, and when they cry they swallow air. If you ever had bad gas before, it can really hurt you, and if you burp a baby, and get that air out, it wont hurt them as much, its for comfort!

after you feed the baby pick him or her up and then gently pat them on the back if you dont there will be a lot of gas babys have to burp just like kids and adults the difference is they cant do it by themselves
