Why do you have to get clear contacts first before colored?!?

I went to the eye doctor's on friday and i have my contacts follow up today at 4.. they told me that i won't be able to get colored contacts right away it would have to be clear.. so now i'm confused.. i have a trial pair certifacate and everything.. so i'm wondering why i can't try the colored ones first.. HELP!?

  1. Its good if you wear the clear contacts for a while, then check with your eye doctor after to see if you can wear colored contacts.


  2. "The certificate is a useful reminder to ask about your Free Trial Pair but it is not required for you to get a Free Trial Pair." They come only in clear ones for you to try first.  Colored ones you have  to buy at a premium.  Try the clear first if you haven't yet used one and see for yourself whether you will be  comfortable with it or not. Remember, a lot of eye diseases can develop over time with use of contact lenses.  Your optometrist will discuss the details to you.

  3. Its not that its because the Trial Pairs for colored contacts in the dr office do not come in prescriptions, if you want a trial pair from the dr in colors they will give it to you but it wont have prescrition in it, its just for you to try the color. So if you like the color u can order a box in your RX, In our office we have colorblends contacts in Clear with the RX only.
