  1. it's a business thing. only certain airlines can go directly to the Philippines.

if you're in America, only Philippine Airlines from Honolulu, Las Vegas, L.A., San Francisco, and Guam flies directly to the Philippines. you'd have to take connecting flights by Northwest Airlines or Continental Airlines to get to the Philippines.

from Europe, you'd have to take a KLM connecting flight.

  2. Since most airplanes are cutting back on "weight." It is

cheaper to stop off in Hawaii, and refuel. <}:-})

  3. the h**l you care? :D

nah.. coz its faa's rule, aviation is divided into inter-state, inter-continental and international flights. get it? :)

  4. change of planes is common for long flights

  5. planes have to refuel; passengers have to stretch. stop-overs are common for trans-atlantic flights

  6. maybe you bought a connecting flight going here... next time ask your travel agency to book you to a direct flight.

  7. because they don't allow you to come on 1 plane

  8. because you booked with airline company which they don't have direct flight to the Philippines and so you need to change plane

  9. It's better than going on half a plane.

  10. Airlines do this in order to be more efficient and maximise profits. For example, if your airline operates out of Los Angeles and has landing rights to Japan, South Korea, etc. it would be unproductive to dispatch two airplanes in order to transport passengers to Japan only and the same for the Philippines, particularly if you can't guarantee that both planes would be filled to capacity in order to be profitable, especially in these times of high fuel prices. So you combine both trips into one, since both countries are located in the same general vicinity anyway. From LA fly to Japan continuing to the Philippines saving fuel and turning in a profit at the same time.

  11. Because I said so.  Ask your mommy. She knows me.

  12. if you fly with PAL from YVR and LAX then it is a direct flight(no stop) but if you fly with Cathay Pacific (which is the best airline in the world) it usually stops in Hong Kong

  13. Well, It depends, if you live in los angeles, you have to stop in hawaii.

If you live in las Vegas, you have to go to, Vancouver, and take a plane, straight to Philippines,

If you live in Hawaii, you can take direct flight, to Manila, or stop over Hong Kong, or Korea, and have another flight going to Manila.

  14. Only one plane from LAX to Manila if flying PAL.  If you fly Cathay, they always stop at HK first.
