Why do you have to pay to become a superstar on Stardoll.com?

I just really don't get it. That they would charge people for something like that. And it just blows my mind that so many people pay for that! Can anybody explain please? Thanks for any answers or comments!

Because there it is more money, which gets the owner of stardoll (Callie) more money. And if you become Superstar, you get more stardollars than a regular doll. I am a regular doll. :P  And being a Superstar is waay better than a regular doll, trust me. My cousin knows.

Yes you do..click bacome a superstar and it gives u information about it

Because without 'Super Star' they would have no source of making money other than Stardollars. They can't run a business with no source of income.
