Why do you keep trying to vacuum up that string, ?

it is the purpose of the vaccuum cleaner to pick it up, so you just want the dumb thing to do it's job

Strictly for entertainment.  Sometimes I cut different lengths to vacuum up, then I get bored and do something else.

I do not do that, as that string can mess up your brush drum!  My mother taught me young to pick up any object off the floor that you can see before vacuuming.

Because your goal is to vacuum up the string, you don't ever really think about just picking it up and throwing it away. Plus, sometimes people are just lazy and would rather vacuum it up then have to find a trash to throw it in.
