Why do you like photography?

I'm writing an essay and I wanna know your opinion to get an idea and to get my mind going :]

Please only answer if you actually do like photography or if you are a photographer or simply love to take pictures.

Odds are if I knew why I liked it, it would take all the fun and mystery out of it.

For the most part, I like photography to help me record special moments (like vacation trips, etc). Without photos to help me out, I tend to forget too much.

Then, from time to time, I feel like I want to something creative. Again, photography and Photoshop come to the rescue, by letting me create something truly unique.

At times, photography can be just plain old useful and utilitarian - to help explain something, to share something I saw/bought, to record details for insurance purposes, etc.
