Why do you like your child's teacher?

My boy's in kindergarten and will be going to 1st grade next year. My girl will be going into kindergarten, and I want to request the same teacher for her because I like her methods of teaching. Can I request the same teacher, taking for granted that she's not being "let go" this year with the cut backs? (we're in California)

Usually you can not ask for a certain teacher. You can try, though.

I do not know about California (expecially since all school districts have their own way of dealing with new student placements) but here we receive a paper that we can write our two choices for teachers the following year... If you do not get one of those then i would recommend you just going to the principal and find out if you can do anything to request your daughter to have that teacher next year... it never hurts to ask!

try to talk to some one at school about it that you want a same teacher for your daughter because you really like her
