  1. The ocean is like a woman. She takes a part of your heart. Then you fall in love. The love grows deeper with the relationship, both good and bad. As a result of the love of the ocean, I love boats. Never met a boat I not like.

We were in Hurricane Rita in the ocean. And I mean in! Rita hit us from the beginning, and actually stopped twice. When we were in the eye it was nice then Rita hit with her backside. Then she stopped for the second and last. The boat is a capable ocean vessel and the people we got it from had also been through a hurricane on the ocean.

When it was all over. I tell my friends; "It was kinda scary, but, when it was over ........ I just loved the ocean that much more"!

When I die, I hope I am in the loving caress of the Ocean and not in some cold hospital room.

  2. I like to boat.

    but there's only one problem.

if you like to boat, you can't just be a guy who likes to boat.

you've got to be a boatsman.

I just want to be a guy who like to boat.

  3. I hate boating.  Who told you I liked/loved it?  The only body of water I want is "my body in water" when I'm taking a shower.  I don't even like taking baths.  I hate water (except for drinking, cooking, showering and other absolute necessities.)

  4. it is one of very few family activities that doesn't require the family to focus on anyone other than the family inside the boat... some of my favorite memories happen to be while boating...

take your family boating and make some memories!!

  5. I love boating (especially on oceans or seas) because I like being on vast body of water. Moreover, I live on the land all the time, so I need a change.

  6. I love the sense of freedom. I love nature. When it's calm I could stay out all day. It's hard to explain. You recharge your batteries. You have absolutely nothing to do but relax and enjoy yourself.

  7. Its my life.   Get out of sight of land, a couple weeks later more land appears- Its China!   Out of nothing comes another adventure.   I also get good food and pay while on the water usually.

On the lakes and harbors its just me and no one else around to tell me where to go or what to do.

  8. It's gets you away from the world of to day and your time on the water lets you be the master of your vessel>

    Cruised the Caribbean & Bahamas>Great life>

  9. because it makes me feel like I'm on vacation every time i go out

  10. A boat is a black hole in the water into which you continuously pour cash, but I am still addicted to the british canals.

  11. Good question which is hard to define and explain.

I guess it's because it's different than everyday experience of driving a car or truck. It's exciting, even though your car probably travels at a faster rate of speed, it seems like your really going fast on the water with the splash off the bow and the bouncing around.

It also gives you a different chance at the fish, than just bank fishing, you can move around easily and comfortably trying different coves, depths, and temperatures.

I like big rivers and lakes now, but I was in the Navy and did a few ATLANTIC crossings, on a ship (basically the same feelings)
