I've only read the first one.

Reason I didn't like it:

The dialogue was extremely cheesey, cliche, whatever. "so what your saying is im your brand of heroin?" i literally wanted to bang my head against the wall at that point. i hated the dialogue. I also hated Bella for some reason, because she seemed a little spoiled of self centered or something like that. and i also found it really amusing that there was no mention of friends from her old hometown. also, the imagery really sucked.

please don't tell me you loved it because edward is so s**y.

also, people say its better than harry potter. its not. pssh.

why did you love twilight?

  1. Honestly I think it's because everyone is dreaming of a relationship like Edward and Bella. Boys aren't like Edward at all anymore, and Edward is sort of a guy everyone's dreamed of, minus the vampire thing. You can connect with the characters, and the balance of action and romance is perfect. That's my opinion, and I respect yours :]

  2. - I loved the relationship between Bella and Edward.

    - I love vampires

    - I like the characters

    - I like the story line

    - Jacob is really funny (if you keep reading you'll see)

There's so much more but I can't write it all, haha. But you're right, I liked Harry Potter more.

  3. Yeah well I loved all of the story, and I'm not 'in-love' with Edward either

I just love all of them so completly.

    I'm not sure why.

  4. I actually hated Twilight.

I read New Moon before I even picked up Twilight (It was the only thing at the book store in a small town during vcation) and then I finished it and got home and started Twilight. I didn't like it one bit.

To answer your question: Why do you love the Twilight book series

I like Jacob. He is such a realistic and amazing character. He is the best and most funny character in the book. Everyone hates him because he's fighting for Bella's love, so is Edward. They like Edward better. Only Jacob is a lot more realistic. He just won't give up because how he feels for Bella but he also loves someone who loves someone else.

Harry Potter is so much better though,

  5. I agree with you there, I also hate Bella. I don't think she's self-centered, though. I think she's some whiny, overreacting "heroine" that can't stand on her own two feet and is soo desperate for Edward. "Oh, Edward, don't leave meee!"

You have a point, the lines are sometimes cheesy, but nevertheless they make me shudder! The imagery isn't bad at all. I mean, if it really sucked then would people fall in love with any of the characters? Stephenie's characters are easy to relate with, especially Jacob! You should read the other books, they're pretty good. If you like Jacob, you'll enjoy New Moon. :) Bella and Jake's relationship improve there.

Hmmm, I never really liked Harry Potter because I`m not interested with fantasy with spells, potions, flying brooms... :> LOLz. Don't worry, I respect your opinion on Twilight. It's not like I'm gonna tie you up and force you to like it. :))

  6. the first time I read twilight, I was attracted because of Edward's character..

he's charming and perfect (but he's not real... too bad..)

I like him and re read the chapter I love most, "the meadow"

but after I read BD, don't know why but I think edward's kinda change his character and he seems ordinary...

however, I love the series because it's unrealistic and never gonna b happen.. I mean, do you have a vampire as your friend/spouse??

    It raises my imajination!

    =D

  7. causee i just love it and have never really read a book like that, that actually caught my attentionn

  8. Well I was actually really reluctant to even start reading the series, but after about a year of persuading, my friend finally got me to read it. (And the main reason I read it was because I heard 'Clair de Lune' was mentioned) So when I was reading it, I was actually thinking 'This sucks. It's so boring.', but like you, when I finished, I liked it (more than a little though).

I don't really agree that Bella seemed annoying at the start, but in 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse', she definitely starts to become annoying to me. She just becomes so needy and drama queen-esque that it really annoyed me.

But I would read the other books, just to see what happens, you know. In my opinion, though, 'Breaking Dawn' ruined the series. The ending was really bad.

And I agree! Harry Potter is waaaaaaaay better!

  9. ok.. if you read breaking dawn or new moon or anything... you would know that she is really an amazing writer... some people write like completely random. like an 8year old or something, but everything she wrote... flowed. bella was not spoiled. she was always afraid that she was not good enough for edward, and that she didn't deserve him. yes she got edward... but it was because of her personality... and yes her "scent" but still, he loved her even after he couldn't smell her anymore... or without her smell. the imagery was not bad at all... i could picture everything in greater clarity then in most books. and so what there was no mention of her old friends... they really didn't talk about her past at all so why would there be friends without a past? and edward is s**y! her imagery is so good that we all fell in love with a fictitious character! for not only his amazing sweetness(in the dialoge btw) but because she made us all picture him like completely s**y!

i loved twilight for all these reasons and more... don't diss it becuase you didn't like it. obviously your more or less alone on this one because of the phenomeonon it has become... so really... no twilight lover cares what you think.

  10. The single greatest thing about Twilight is Jacob Black.  In which case, I guess you should continue.  ^^

    I don't love Twilight.  I really don't even like Twilight.  I read it, I was amused by it, and now I know what everyone is talking about.  It was poorly written, the characters are horribly flat, the plot... well c**p, I lost it.  But somehow, in the same series as Mary Sue Bella and ZOMGHOTT!!111!!ONE!!111!Edward, Stephenie Meyer managed to create Jacob Black.  Jake is actually a well-rounded and believable character.  It's crazy.  Honestly, I think that's why so many people hate him. ^^;

Anyway, because of Jake, New Moon and Eclipse are the books I liked best.  I hate Breaking Dawn, and I'm fairly indifferent to Twilight.

  11. yeah i agree

    it's totally c**p

    harry potter is waaaay better.

  12. i loved it because it gave me hope of a relationship like theres.  kinda like love really does exist.   yeahh i know it sounds cheesy lol(:

    yeah i hate bella too.

bellas to whiney and overreacts about everythinggg. but thats the only think i hate about the book.

theres no mention of friends from her old town because she had no friends.  lol

andd i liked it more than harry potter.  i couldnt get into harry potter.  idk why. i just never really likked it.. :|

    i love the seriess(:
