Why do you need pastors when the holy spirit can guide you much better?

Perhaps it is because Christ said we need the pastors and leaders of his church.  He organized his church and call leaders to lead it.

See Ephesians 2:19-20

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

  20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

Exactly.  Why you say? because they think that many of the masses are stupid sheep that they need to be the leaders for.

But if you're already an intelligent leader, you don't need their stuff.

It's like, do you need the 3rd grade when you're in 10th?

We do need pastors, also teachers, mentors, group leaders, counselors, etc.  God planned it that way, and if he said it that settles it for me.

Jesus supplied the church with pastors and other gifted people.  We cannot be the people God has called us to be unless we are open to the Holy Spirit and committed to fellowship with other gifted believers.  

It is a sin for followers of Jesus to forsake assembling together.

Why do we need teachers, guides, writers, thinkers, etc when everything you need to know can be found right here?

In fact there are some people so smart here they can build rockets in their garage or supercomputers in their basement. Just by clicking their mouse.

I think we should utilize any means of fostering an environment that brings the Holy Spirit into our lives.  Listening to others speak of Christ is a great way of accomplishing this.  If we are indeed listening to someone with authority from God, we should be able to feel the spirit.  Providing we have prepared our minds and hearts to receive the message.

Jesus called himself the Good Shepherd!

He set Peter & the Apostles up to be his assistant shepherds.

The whole structure of the church he created is based on shepherds.

The assistants listen to the Word of the Good Shepherd.

He communicates that through the Holy Spirit, as he promised.

but some people don't always choose to listen to the holy spirit

instead pastors are there to translate the holy spirit so it can be bit easier to understand at times

To know what to do and who to call when someone needs a suicide line they usually are trained in this area

To get the toilets fixed to get the roofs fixed

to organize all the coffee hours

To get diapers to the single mom

the list just keeps getting bigger

faith can move mountains but someone needs to buy the shovels
