  1. well grades r important and they r more important than sports. and most schools require a 2.0 but that is pretty easy to achieve if you would really like to play. i would suggest it since you r so good to try to raise your grade.

  2. School policy which is very important.  If you are failing in school you will also fail on the volleyball court.  Try to be a better person, work on your grades and then you will succeed on the court.  Slacker in the class equals slacker on the court!

  3. when you attend school and play sports you are considered a student athlete. notice that student comes before athlete. sure there's a one in a million chance that you will make it pro, but if for some reason your career is over then it's always good to know that you have a degree behind you.

  4. You have to prove that you can handle more than one responsibility. Grades prove that you can handle your school life along with your active life.

  5. Education comes first then sports. its the coaches resposibility to check up on the players grades.U have to do good in ur classes first then u can play sports. Most school ask for at least a 2.0 G.P.A. (grade point average) Which is a C avergae in your classes.

  6. Like everyone else has said... "In school, academics are the first priority."  It is not just the schools that require athletes to have a certain GPA, it is also the leagues, sections and state federations.  As a coach, I want to help my athletes to succeed, not only on the court, but also in the classroom and in life.  If they can't succeed in the classroom, they won't succeed anywhere else.

  7. Because you need to get a job when you get older and you can't hinge your future on a sport that you may never do professionally and get paid for. That is why they call them extracurricular activities. And you need the knowledge you get in an education to get a good job

  8. 1st priority in a school sport. Acedemics first then sports. Get yuour priorities strait.

  9. Because then extracurriculars can be more overpowering in your life than academics.

  10. most school require you to have a 2.0 average

  11. Because if you can't be responsible enough to keep up your grades than it appears that you wouldn't be responsible enough to keep up with practices and the team in general.

  12. Academics are your first priority in school. Like it or not. Even at the college level, I had to keep a 3.0 minimum grade point average. If you can't dedicate yourself to your studies, then what is there to make the coaches think that you're going to dedicate yourself to your sport? Remember too that people who are on school teams are representing that school in all aspects, not just for the sport.

  13. If you ever want to go farther with your volleyball career, for example get a scholarship to a college. they arent just going to look at you and say wow shes good. they are going to look at your grades also. If you really love volleyball, keep your grades up.
