Why do you not tip Pizza Dilivery Driver?

I WANT TO KNOW WHY IF HE IS ON TIME AND THE FOOD IS RIGHT

I AM A DELIVERY DRIVER AND I JUST WANTED TO GET THIS OUT THERE. WE PAY FOR OUR OWN GAS. WE GET PAID MINIMUM WAGE. WE PAY FOR OUR OWN CAR

MAINTENANCE. WE DON'T HAVE A TIME LIMIT OR ANYTHING IN WHICH TO DELIVER THE PIZZA. WE USUALLY HAVE 2 OR 3 DELIVERY AT SAME TIME SO WE USUALLY GO TO THE LOUSY TIPPERS LAST AND WHO KNOWS WE MIGHT EVEN SPIT IN YOUR PIZZA BEFORE WE DELIVER.

AFTER READING THIS DO YOU HAVE ANY REASON LEFT ON WHY YOU DON'T TIP. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO TIP GO GET YOU OWN PIZZA ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE 7-10 MILES OUT THAT'S GALLON OF GAS WHICH IS $4 WHICH I PAY FOR SO IN THE END I GET PAID BELOW MINIMUM WADGE

  1. People are cheap. They don't give a d@mn that you have a lousy job, and may think that it's an incentive for you to get a real...oops, better job.

On top of which, that's not what I ordered and it's cold!

By the way, ALL CAPS IS CONSIDERED YELLING. If you yell at me I don't want your pizza!

  2. You need to find a new job if you have to pay for your own fuel. I've never heard of that in a delivery service. Every place around here pays you by the km + 9.25 an hour (minimum) + tips. They make decent money.

  3. I always tip 20%, plus I pay the $2 delivery fee on top of it. I was reading the other posts, and yah, they usually forget my sauce too (but I still get charged for it, .50 cents a sauce and we usually order 8-10)  :(

  4. People don't always realize when it is, and is not appropriate to tip. Personally, I blame every little coffee shop, book store, and fast food restaurant that puts out a tip jar. Some people rely on tips, pizza delivery people, servers, people that make your life significantly easier for you.

People today see everyone begging for a tip, weather they deserve it or not, and those asking for it usually don't.

At the same time, if your job is costing you money then you need to get out. Sure, people should tip you, but there are a lot of things people should do, but don't. You have to take responsibility for yourself.

  5. We don't because it is against the law to tip. Also, different states have different structure of wages for you guys. So how do we know who is receiving what wages or you have to pay for your own gas, etc.?

Home delivery prices are already more expensive than what we would pay if we were to dine in, so how would this be fair to the customers having to give a tip on top of the already higher price?

If you require more wages, or pay for the fuel for your van, etc., then you should talk to your company and work out something that both sides can accept. Tipping is not the only / best solution.

  6. 1.  Because the pizza DELIVERY driver cannot spell.

2,  Because this is a job which earns a salary.  I do not tip the burger boy at Wendy's nor the gas jockey at the convenient mart.  They work.  They get paid.  End of story, unless you are a waiter/waitress for which you only earn about one third of minimum wage and restaurant management claims that your tips provide the balance of your wage.

  7. I always tip even more than I would a waitress.  I don't order from Domino's because they add a gas surcharge and don't even give it to their drivers.  They should be ashamed.  You guys and gals are great and worth a huge tip every time.

If you yell at the customers the way you yelled at us, that might be your problem.

  8. Everytime I order extra cheese sauce from papa johns they forget but charge me 30 cents for the sauce. I figure for as many times as I've ordered and they've forgot theres your tip.

Wheres the extra 2.50 per delivery going that they charge im sure you get some of that if not you need to find a new place to work.

If you went 7 miles 14 total thats one tank of gas.

with 3 deliveries thats 7.50 in delivery fees plus tips and 4.00 out of pocket to you. If you got 2.00 in tips per delivery theres another 6.00 to you. That trip probably takes what 30-45 minutes round trip. Your still making close to 15.00  per hour delivering pizza. Im sure you get good tips as well 5 bucs here and there you just forget them easier.

Im sure the way you type everything in caps your a real sweetheart at the door. You work for tips thats gonna happen take the good with the bad.

  9. I always tip mine, usually 15% of the bill just like in a restaraunt.

  10. I always tip 15 - 20%
