Why do you not use your turn signals when you come to an intersection?

I don't use them because it runs my electric bill up at home.

If it's obvious which way I'm going then I don't because due to so much traffic on the roads, the bulbs would burn out faster.

If it's not obvious then I always signal.

I don't know why more people don't. It seems really selfish to me. (stupid too)

edit: Hey: Ok. I will always use them from now on.  I mean obvious when you can't turn in another direction. You can't go straight. You can't go right, for instance. You are stuck going one way only.  I'll signal there too. I give advance notice too like you are supposed to.  (not too advance but enough)  

I'm not a driver that slows first and then signals. I signal first and then slow down.

edit: You guys are harsh. What is your problem? Why do I have 6 thumbs down??  I'm not the problem. The only time I have not signalled is when there is no choice in which direction to go. You have to stop and wait. Going straight is not an option.  I live in New England. Geesh. I will keep my turn signal on until I'm done with the turn.  People are crazy or just stupid. There is nothing wrong with what I do. I have a perfect driving record.

edit: Turning lane has nothing to do with it. It's when there is one lane and all cars have to stop behind me. No choice but to go in one direction.  I always check in my rearview mirror to see what is going on.

I do, but those who don't are either ignorant, lazy, or just anti-social.  If I were a cop I'd write so many tickets for this my hands would fall off.

You do have to use your turn signals at an intersection because it is for your safety and the safety of other as well.

But I always do, because it's important that the other users of the road, including and especially pedestrians, are forewarned of my intentions. It improves safety and saves time.

You use turn signals to warn the people behind and around you that you're turning so no one hits you while you're turning

I always use mine. I get annoyed at people that don't use them. I think some people just get in too big of a hurry and don't take time to use them or they are too busy yakking on their cell phone.

B/c some people are jerks who are too dumb to operate a difficult mechanical device such as a turn signal.

I always use my signals.  Even if it's obvious (i.e. I'm in a turning lane).  

There is no excuse not to.
