  2. i'm actually getting good every day , because i have a pool table in my house and for now i play for fun, maybe later i'll play for money, once you get really good there is no point of playing with someone knowing that you are going to win, so why not betting.

  3. I play it t0 relax after i've had a hard day..i'm 0nly 13 s0 i d0nt have that many hard days l0l..i d0 play it pretty 0ften th0ugh because i have a table at my h0use and i just like playing...

  4. Currently for Fun... but Later, if i feel that I can, will go for Money! :)

  5. I have played pool since I was a little kid. My grandpa taught me to play 3 ball when I was 9 or 10 years old and I have been hooked ever since. There are so many reasons that I love the game I really don't know where to start. Just to pick one , every time you break the balls it's a different game , not like bowling or other games where it's the same thing over and over. Each rack brings a different challenge and a different situation. I've always been a very competitive person no matter what the situation and pool seems to fit that just fine. Good luck to ya!

  6. I play it for the challenge.  Pool is one of the only sports where you play against yourself.  Sure, you may have an opponent, but if you have the oppurtunity to step up to the table there is no reason why you should not win the game.  The strategy that I have learned from others and improved myself is what keeps me playing.  I look forward to the ACS state tournament every year and want to continue improving every day.

  7. I've been playing most of my life.  I love the way that pool makes sense even when the rest of life is completely chaotic.  To me, it's about focusing completely on the table and drowning out everybody and everything around me.  When I'm shooting, the table is my universe.  Nothing else exists beyond the table.  Pool makes good use of all the senses.  I love the sounds of pool: the "crack" of the balls, the squeaking of the chalk, the "thunk" of the ball falling in the pocket.  I love the feel of the cue in my hands, the cloth on the table, etc.  I love the feeling I get when everything that I planned works out perfectly, when I pocket the ball that I called and get perfect cue ball position exactly as I planned in my mind.  I love the history of the game.  I love that it's been played by everyone from royalty to the common man.  It's such a pure game to me.  It's you against the table (and your opponent to some degree).  Nobody can make you leave the table except you.  I could go on but I need to get to sleep.  Good question, Johnny.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  8. Fun..if I played for money I would be broke cause i am not that good..lol

  9. because when one is a 100 break snooker player walking over to a pool table in a pub its easy money  and i rarely have to buy a drink unless i've been before lol

  10. more 4 the fun than for the money, ill go out with my friends and go to a few bars and play..........its a good way to practice and get creative on the table by playing with different people, and u meat alot of people ,and girls that's the best part.....

  11. Straight is straight out of Lincoln's reasons for playing the game --- (first prez to have a pool table in the White House, and it was a Brunswick, I believe.) And he's right about it so I won't try to beat him.

But there are other reasons to play pool and billiards:

I notice that my blood pressure is lower after I've been playing pool for a while.

I haven't done scientific studies, but I would be willing to bet that seniors who have played a lot of pool have better analytical abilities and better hand/eye motor coordination, with a lessor incidence of dementia.

I play because it's one of the few things that's both fun and healthy--- a perfect mix.
