  1. I never do say that I care if I don't... and I never would do that.. if I don't care.. I will tell the other person so.. I am honest that way.. what is the point of pretending?

  2. Not everyone does. It is kind of harsh to be told, I don't care, especially if they add, I don't care about you. It's rude. If I say something then I mean it because I'm not in the habit of lying. I'd rather be honest but tactful. What annoys me is the people that just assume you care about all of the details of their lives including what people in their life that you don't know but they feel the need to tell you. I care about the person tellling me but I don't care to hear intimate details. It doesn't concern me. I just listen. I don't say that I care or don't care. I leave it out and I try to get out of the conversation as quickly as possible.

  3. This is a gray area!  Often people care, but not enough that the other person gets what they hope to from them.  Someone can care but not enough to change their behavior or opinion, yet still have feelings of sadness reflecting the fact that they did care about the effect on you.

  4. It's difficult to "care" when one makes grand sweeping generalizations such as this one.

Dear one, if I say I care - I do. If I do not care, either I say nothing or I tell you flat out that I don't care.

  5. Because in a way you do care.  You care about that person thinking that you really don't care when yeah....you really don't care.  You care about feelings.

  6. I don't. But a lot of folks do. And I think it's so that they can avoid awkward moments. Moh
