I would list some reasons I think she was chosen but I am trying to remain neutral so this does not get reported.

  1. For women votes of corse! but also for the undicided and the independents

  2. i think mccain chose sarah palin bcuz she's a woman

there is no other reason possible

    1. she got her passport in 2007!! she has NO foreign policy experience

    2. she doesn't believe in evoloution ...??

    3. she doesn't think s*x ed should be taught in schools

she just says people should say no s*x. uh,  her daughter is PREGNANT

    4. the state she was governing, the whole population is less than most big cities

    5. when she campaigned in pennsyvania, she said "it's nice to see the rest of the country"??????

    6. she asked "what does a VP exactly do?"

    ok, if she becomes vice-president

there is a good chance something could happen to mccain and then SHE'LL be president

if she is president, i am moving out of the u.s.

she will be worse than bush

  3. As far as I've been able to ascertain McCain actually wanted Lieberman as his running mate.

When the religious right found that out they threw a fit and threatened an ugly battle on the conference floor ending in a rejection of McCains choice.

( Mainly the pro choice stand by Lieberman was unpalatable ).

So McCain compromised and since he didn't want to make the safe and predictable choice ( Like Romney ) he picked Palin from a shortlist in a bit of a hurry.

  4. To get Hillary voters.

  5. Because the fundamentalist christian base would not support his first choice (lieberman) and basically forced him to pick a fundamentalist christian right wing conservative as vp.

So all his earlier talk about 'country first' , picking a vp he knows well and who would be 'ready on day 1' was just bullsht.

McCain did what he had to do to have even a chance at winning.

  6. 1)  to connect with the ultra conservatives with whom he had trouble connecting.

    2)  steal Obama's publicity and momentum (everyone was talking about McCain the day after Obama's acceptance)

    3)  add personality, charisma, energy to his campaign (he offers none on his own)

    4)  he couldn't take Lieberman

    5)  steal some of the Hillary supporters

His choice doesn't look too bad considering how popular Palin is after her speech.  Whether she has the experience to be VP is debatable, but she seems to have the personality to do it.

  7. It's widely known that 25% of Hillary Clinton supporters said they'd vote for McCain, so he thought it would be nice to pick an energized, young, sophisticated woman with good facial features and "unhypocritical" conservatism. There are other reasons as well but this one is the most important in my opinion.

I myself support Obama but I think McCain would've done better if he chose Mitt Romney as VP. I may not agree with him on some issues but he's definitely supreme as an executive (and consequently help the US economy).

  8. i think he picked her bec there is a lot of undecided voters and he wants there vote to insure that he will win and he got there attention by making an unknown person (to most people) his running mate i think he picked her so he would get the vote of (undecided) women and bec she is hot (undecided) guys will vote for her. i dont think this was sexist i think it was a smart idea from McCain he wants to win and this will get him in the white house.

  9. McCain wants to win!

  10. Because she is a strong, confident, bright, attractive, CONSERVATIVE woman who has a reputation for fighting corruption and reforming the bloated government just like McCain!!
