Question:

Why do you think Pro-Choice is OK?

I was wondering because i am pro-choice, but only because I believe that some people don't consider the embryo or fetus a life. I don't understand how anyone can justify the killing of a baby in any other circumstance.

  1. No.

I do believe abortion is okay in 3 cases:

    Rape

    Incest

Medical complications that would kill the mother

  2. I am pro-choice because, just like everyone who is pro-life i have a belief.  And to me, since i dont KNOW when life starts, i just believe i know when life starts, i can allow that i am wrong and that other people have the right to believe differently than I do and make very personal decisions based on their own personal beliefs, rather than trying to enforce my beliefs on them.

  3. The reasons people are pro-choice include, they don't want a baby, can't afford a baby, etc. They justify this by the facts following

    - fetus is not viable until 20 weeks, 99% of abortions are performed before 20 weeks

    - fetus does  not feel pain until a bout the 20 week mark, scientific research shows that they flinch out of reflex, but there is no neuron electrical response that would mean there is pain

-fetus does not form cognitive thoughts

-foster care and adoption are expensive for taxpayers, can lead to higher risks for abuse or trauma to the child, and some women can't give their baby to a stranger.

But some people feel it's wrong and it's murder

    It's a moral decision.

I don't care either way. I wouldn't have an abortion, but I don't fault or judge anyone who does, it's their life, their decision, and their call, and the government shouldn't ban it, it won't make it stop, it will make it more dangerous, the baby AND the woman can be killed, and abortion rates (illegal mind you) are actually higher in countries where abortion and contraception are regulated or banned.

In the end, it's a moral, personal decision.

  4. It should not be  the government's decision as to what a woman can/canot do with her body.

  5. if a women is raped should she have to look at a baby that reminds her of the day her dignity was taken? YES i understand adoption, but what about the 9 months inbetween. thats a long time to have a "gift"-being the child (for lack of a better word) that would also remind her of the horrible events.

I was pro choice but im unsure now that i have seen videos. Even still, murder is wrong and a baby should have a say about their OWN life. Adoption is a good option and their are many people wanting your baby.

As for the above mentioned...maybe during that nine months she gets excited and wants to keep the baby instead of adopting out. Now that event has turned into a miracle. but then again (i know totaly out there) what if she is happy and keeps it, is there a chance of abuse or rape due to the previous event? THIS has turned into a very interesting question and i will be watching your answers.

  6. I feel that it's not my place to force another woman to go through a pregnancy.  There are plenty of selfish women that probably shouldn't carry a baby to term if she is unwilling to give up drugs or alcohol.  I know republicans think all democrats are for abortion, but we're not.  I don't understand how any woman could do it either, but I also know that I have my own stuff to answer for in the end.  Judge not lest ye be judged.  I don't believe that a baby has a soul until it is living and breathing on its own and no longer attached to its mother.  I don't like  the idea of abortion, but we were given free will for a reason.

  7. Since you are in the Law section

So if someone shoots a pregnant woman and the fetus dies but the mother survives it could not be murder from a law point of view

I assume the person that would be the shooter would not consider the fetus to be a life under those circumstances

Just checking the logic of your position

  8. I believe in early trimester abortions.  There are stupid women who have them 8 months into the pregnancy and that, my friend, IS murder!  It's also retarded too because in order to have a late term abortion, one has to induce labor and then cut the baby's throat.  Why not induce labor and give the baby up for adoption when it comes out?  What the h**l are these women trying to avoid?  Their vaginas are going to be ripped out regardless!

  9. Believe it or not, a tissue or a bunch of cells in someone's womb does not have legal rights.  I'm pretty sure you have to be a living person outside the womb to be protected by law.
