Why do you think Stephenie Meyer has Jacob and Quil imprint on babies? To me i find it quiet gross...

I just don't understand why she had practically grown men imprint/fall in love with infants? Also why did she have Jacob imprint on Nessie Edwards daughter it just doesn't make sense. Bella and Nessie are always going to have some awkwardness between them "Why yes honey i did love your husband but i loved your father more."?? That is just crazy. The book was good yes, but it was not filled with the same intense love as the previous three.
