Jesus Christ did not make his ministry one of Politics between the Jews the Romans Ceasar He did say *What belongs to Ceasar* give to Ceasar and what belongs to GOD give to GOD...

I think he meant if you have taxes to pay to the Gov't pay them but give back to GOD what he has given to you..

1.Helping the Poor

2. Caring for the sick

  1. Since Republicans are more concerned with money than people, and Democrats are more concerned with people than money, it's clear to me that Democrats more closely convey Jesus's message than Republicans.

The irony of course is that Karl Rove set up a giant spin machine back in the 1990s, with the specifc purpose of convincing middle America (whose intelligence the Republicans continuously underestimate) that they were "God's Party."  That would be hilarious if it wasn't so scary how many people actually believe that.

  2. Neither convey one word of Christ message.  He never advocated seizing the money of others under threat of violent force from the government to give away to buy votes from another segment of the population.

  3. Huh? No of course not.

Another example of Christians getting whatever they want from bible quotes.

  4. Maybe their trying to compete with the Muslims and Jews. You know start a war and announce that Christianity is the all powerful.

  5. For good or ill there are splinter groups within the USA that deny the other's rights.  Currently, the Atheists have carried the day with the proposed elimination (some successful) of prayer in school, school vouchers for private institutions, Abortion on demand, absolute separation of faith and government (when the Constitution only forbids the establishment of Religion (a nationalized version) not any kind of faithful display or exclamation.  In time, Religionists may yet see a return to normalcy in this country, when the mere mention of G-d and the defense of the unborn is seen as a positive thing(s).

  6. As christians it is our duty to incorporate God into every aspect of our lives. It is our mission as christians, to become closer to God. How are we going to do that by excluding him from such an important aspect of our lives. Goverrnment affects our daily lives so why can't our daily lives affect the govt.?

I fear that too many people become so caught up in serving the governments purpose, that we lose sight of what God is calling us to do.  I don't believe that you can say that any particular party best 'conveys Jesus's message.' However, we can convey his message by learning exactly what his message is. We do this by reading his word everyday, and praying for his wisdom as we interpret it into our daily lives.

  7. As far as I know, Jesus' message is completely lost on every government.

Of course, there are governments who do things to help others, but only because they would quickly lose power and wealth if they didn't. The reality is they have no care for anyone who does not line their pockets with heaps of cash.

  8. Because Bush found out by pandering to the religious reich he could gain about a 10% boost in the number of people who voted for him regardless of what his other policies were.  If you can get a large group of religious leaders to say "vote for this person" the congregations will without any knowledge of what the candidate stands for.  It's just profitable corruption.

Edit: Buddy R- You're quite wrong, I suggest you look up the actual beliefs of the founding fathers.  I included a Wikipedia source that mirrors what you'll largely find in other locations that don't include the word "god" or "church" in the url.  Yes, some were christian to be sure, but far from all of them...

Here's a quote for you: "Priests...dread the advance of science as witches do the approach of daylight and scowl on the fatal harbinger announcing the subversions of the duperies on which they live." Thomas Jefferson, April 11, 1820.

  9. Crimmy, first I must say that this is a very thoughtful question.  Much better than that visitors watching us from outer space one.

God analogy on the words of Christ.  "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's"  Excellent interpretation.

More than that, we are made in the image of God.  The coin had Caesar's image on it, prompting Jesus to say what he did.  What he meant was that we should submit to the will of God.  If God is for us, who can be against us?

Politics have become very corrupted by people seeking power.  It was mostly always this way but there were altruistic people who were the founders of our country.  But mostly, people are seeking power when they get into politics.  A few, have the interests of the people in mind.  And some, like Senator Arlen Spector of PA, have a nice mix of power seeking with a need to serve the people.  He is my favorite.

Asking who convey's Jesus message between the two parties is like asking whether the Union or the Confederacy was the army of God.  Certainly both claimed God.  Stonewall Jackson was one of the most devout Christians of his time.

Off the subject, sorry.  I don't think either group conveys the message of Jesus, or Mohammed or the Dahli Lama.  Individually, there are scarce few that convey Jesus who are Democratic or Republican leaders.  They have made the choice to follow the Lord.  But you don't hear about them because they do not broadcast their views.  Quietly, they follow the Lord and provide evangelism through their actions.

  10. I do not think that they convey Jesus's message at all.  What I do think is that they are saying what they think they need to for luring votes from God's people.  They know that most of us want our leaders to look to God for  guidance, to be true followers of God, and to be a vessel through which God can use to bring about His will so they pay lip service to what they think will lure us to their side.

I pray for Jesus to return and establish the Kingdom of God so we won't have to worry about leaders paying lip service rather than really being Godly leaders.

  11. Because they have cynically and correctly made a gamble on the gullibility of American christians... I would rather see religion stamped out by the army than in control of nuclear weapons, sorry guys.

  12. Its a shame too, because I think Jesus would have been a communist.  I know, click the thumber button christians, but honestly, the biblical Jesus God did preach a sort of communism for how we should lead our lives(please, a christian with an understanding of politics back me on this, because I'm going to get flamed).  Which is odd, because our reward would be a feudal dictatorship.

  13. I really wish we could leave religion out of politics, the way it's supposed to be.  I'm a Christian and a Democrat and I'm tired of all this "religious right" nonsense.  Religion and politics shouldn't mix, period.

  14. most ppl want moral leaders...and someone they can trust....

NONE OF THEM QUALIFY FOR ME...IM NOT VOTING...I WANT JESUS...NOONE ELSE..

  15. Rome was a pagan government. The USA was founded by Christians and Christians are still a majority in this country. Christians have a right to have their voice heard in our democracy.

Christians also have an obligation to speak out agains sin, such as homosexuality and murdering children.

The Democrates say Jesus is a liar to say marriage is between a man and a woman and that killing children is ok. The Republicans stand against those abominatins.

The Bible says if a man won't work neither shall he eat. The Democrats say to steal from the workers to give to those who refuse to work. The Republicans believe in the words of the Bible about people being required to work.

The Democrats say to the religious people to shut up if they don't agree with the abominations that they preach.

Thus the Democratic party is against Christa, not for Christ.

  16. Because if you can convince people that God wants you to vote a certain way, people will more than willingly vote against their own interests.

  17. Democrats because they are pro universal healthcare which cares for the poor and sick, and pro getting out of the war (loving your enemies)

  18. That would be the Democrats...  I don't know why any Christian (especially one who claims to follow a humble, loving Messiah) would vote Republican...  especially any Christian who likes having a JOB.  The Democrats are literally about helping out the little guy...  that is when they aren't following their own agendas.

Buddy- the founding fathers were mostly Deists... you should look up Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin's quotes about Christianity...  Comedic Genius!

  19. Democrats, yet they are the ones keeping the separation of church and state. Go figure. Republicans are hypocrites.
