  1. I don't think it is. I'm quite happy with the U.K.'s benign  monarchy  I'll no doubt recieve screams from some quarters.

  2. I would prefer a democracy.  Modern communications makes this feasible today on a large scale.

  3. No

Governemnt itself is flawed. Lets all go back to small, communistic communities

  4. A republic is a "government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governed according to law". *

A democracy is "a government in which the supreme power  is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically free elections".  *

I would prefer a true, pure democracy which is a "government by the people, esp: the rule of the majority". While many say such a true democracy would be "mob rule", I say it would be a form of government easily implemented with today's technologies and much more appropriate to our society. Today's "democratic republic" in the United States is a sham, because it has become far too corrupted by the "Republicrats" - a monopolistic, corrupt two-party system that gives voters little choice - and no voice - in our electoral process.

A true democracy would be one vote = one vote. Period.... none of this "superdelegate" b.s. that has the ability to overthrow the will of the majority.   -RKO-  05/31/08

  5. NO! we need to spread the wealth, we will find a New Lennon and form the 5th riech.

  6. Nobody can say  with certainty which type of government is better.  I myself am republican because I believe in limited government as well as minimum taxation.  Where as the democratic party believes in helping everyone and doing so with governmental funds.  All in all, they are two different points of view, neither can be graded as one better than the other as a whole.

  7. I believe it's the best of a bad lot.
