Why do you think animals are friends not food?

I agree they shouldn't have to go through that pain they are just as important as humans and they have feelings to and can feel pain!

Well, when I was younger I was raised in a religious household that believed that humans had domain over animals.  My church taught that although cruelty to animals was wrong, they were ours to eat for food.

Now, I am freed from any religious ties and I believe that the animals have every right to exist on this earth that we do.  I don't feel that humans have a predestined importance over the animals that makes it okay to eat them.

I think of mine as food. I enjoy reading the vegetarian section because I like to read about a variety of different viewpoints. However, we raise animals and sell them for meat. I would rather eat my own animal any day then one bought at the store. I know mine are raised and killed humanly. Also, we had turkeys that we were raising for thanksgiving, and they got so big that they couldn't walk. We didn't feed them anything out of the ordinary. I think it's more cruel to leave an animal suffering where it can't walk around then it is to kill it and eat it. So I think of them as food!

just because that they look differently doesnt mean that they feel differently. just lke us, they have emotions. the only reason that they are killed is because thay cant talk. think about it. idots who work at slaughter houses probably could not kill something that they just had a conversation with. they would not want to have to listen to the horrified words that they were saying as they were about to be killed. people are greedy. they do not care about others feelings as long as they make a profit and get a steak for diner. its disgusting.

a lot of people who would never even consider vegitarianism say that they love dogs, but how are dogs much different than a baby cow? they say that they love their children, but then they eat a chicken who loved its children too. people dont think that animals do not feel pain, but the truth that they dont want to hear is they do.
