Why do you think bondi beach is so popular?

Because it's the closest large surf beach to the city. It used to be famous for its row of large pine trees fronting onto the beach, but they all died decades ago due to pollution from detergents in the salt spray.

Location, location, location. Bondi beach is a tourist beach, you won't find many locals down there. The beach is patrolled for longer hours then other beaches due to the high influx of tourists who can struggle to swim.
