Seriously, an interview is a privilege.  The person interviewing you weeded through dozens, possibly hundreds, of apps and resumes to pick you.  They're busy and they know exactly what they're looking for - an interview a one-time chance for you to sell what you have to offer.  They're not granted to everyone, and when you get one, put your best foot forward and make a great impression.  If you don't, not only will you not get an offer, but word will get around and you won't get more interviews either.

That's like asking why it's important to show up on time, or speak intelligently, or know something about  the job!!!

so they know you can be professional.  It's great if you can party with the best of them, but when someone is looking for a professional responsible adult, they don't want to know if you can do a keg stand or not.  Just a thought.
