I had a sonogram last week where they informed me of how big our baby girl is already. I'm 5'1" and have gained 70lbs with this pregnancy. I don't have preclamsia or diabetes. He scheduled a c-section for 39wks (in two days) stating the baby is too big to fit through my pelvis. I'm fine with this, but I just wonder why she's so big. I can't help but feel guilty that I gained so much weight and that I did this to her. BUT, my husband is 6'2" and he was a 9lb baby and his brother and sister were 10lb babies. I was only 6lbs. Anyone have know why our baby is so big and will probably be bigger when she's born?

  1.  My baby was measuring big all the way through my pregnancy. I had regular ultrasounds to measure his size and my cervix to make sure I could carry him full term as I had previously had a LETZ procedure. The last u/sound I had was at 38 weeks and estimated size was around 8 and a half pounds. I gave birth vaginally at 39 weeks to a 9Ibs 6oz boy. It was an extremely long and difficult labour, baby got stuck and I ended up with a third degree tear. I was begging for assistance with getting him out but no doctor on duty so I would be jumping at the opportunity you have to have a c-section. Even is baby isnt as big as they say, I would risk going through what I did. C-sections are safe enough, otherwise they wouldnt do them so freely
