  1. That's where I'm currently residing. I love California! The weather is great, the people are good looking, nice beaches, they have fun and excited things to do unlike other places.

I think Flordia might be another good state too, but from what I've heard the people are superficial (not that some aren't in Cali)

  2. Absolutely loved it! I lived there for 8 years before my mother decided to move us back to georgia, and I hate it here. While in cali there are places to go, things to see, and people to meet. Down here it grass, trees, and a whole lot of dog sh*t, there's nothing to do, it's hot and humid, it gets hotter when it rains, and did I mention that almost everybody here is racist, religious, or plain out rednecks. If you had to decide between cali or georgia, I would always pick cali. unless it's something bad, then georgia can have it all they want.

  3. Having grown up in Louisiana, I love California.  I have lived here for 10 years, and although I go home twice a year to my home state, I am always relieved to get back on the plane and head west, toward liberality, open-mindedness, a world-class economy (5th overall), and more.

I left Louisiana long before I left physically.  What I disliked about the South was the racism, sexism, religiosity, close-mindedness, judgmental attitudes.  I hated rednecks, Repug-nicans and their behaviors and attitudes and beliefs, all derogatory and belittling toward women and minorities.  I disliked that there was little to do, little culture and little opportunity to advance.

California is much better.  Here you aren't judged on who your parents are and where they lived, and what your mother's maiden name was.  Although it's not called "the land of fruits and nuts" for nothing, there's a benign craziness here -- after all, we're all crazy in our own ways.  California is the source of fashion trends, new vocabulary, new films, new diets, new ways of thinking and behaving and being.  It's nice to live in a place that's cutting-edge, even if at times it's a little flaky.

However, all this said, it depends what you want out of life.  I imagine for someone who is by nature conservative, who likes dependability, who dislikes change, who has fixed ideas, and/or who is looking for a good, safe place to raise children in a sheltered environment, the South might be a good choice -- for that particular purpose.  I myself had a great childhood in the South, but was bored by age 10 and wanted more stimulation, more opportunity, more to see, more to do.

Like anything in life, it depends on your personality, your wants, your needs.  Good luck!

    Cheers, K
