Why do you think our government is terrible?

I have several reasons.

I don't...I wouldn't have fought for it if I did!..most of the people I see complaining are the whiners who,frankly, are so spoiled, they need a good butt kickin and brought into reality for a change. Plus I have yet to meet one single complainer who tells me it's so bad, he cant stay and talk 'cause he's afraid he'll miss his flight to Cuba!!....

I don't believe that our government is terrible & probably neither do you.  We actually have a wonderful system of government & it would be great if our judicial, legislative & executive branches did what our founders envisioned.

The real issues are that:

1) Our judicial is creating laws in the courtroom instead of objectively interpreting existing laws.

2)Our executive branch hasn't held up to the inherent responsibility of the position in so long that anyone who tries to do so seems to be quaint, kinda dumb, etc.

3) Our legislators have become baby sitters instead of our chosen representatives.  They will say absolutely anything to get elected & then go on their merry way doing what they think is best for their constituents instead of what their constituents want them to do.

They are terrible because they are supposed to be for the people and they are for whoever puts money in their pocket to lobby for them.

Politicians have made a career out of being in office and forgotten the reason they are supposed to be there.

You can make good argument that it is terrible. You can also make a good argument that it is still better than any other government on earth.

If you are referring to our form of Government, which is a Democratic Republic, I don't think it is Terrible at all.  In theory it is the most successfully and prudent form of government ever employed in any country.

However if you are referring to the people that run said government, then that is a different thing all together.  The most terrible of which is people that want to change it to a more Socialist-Marxist view. in other words any that would expand the control the government has over the individual.

OUR GOVERNMENT IS NOT TERRIBLE.

Our government is great; we have a system of checks and balances.  The founders of our country gave us the constitution, a document that would prevent tyranny and protect the freedoms and liberties of each and every American.

Now, most of the politicians who control our government are terrible.  As you may have noticed, during the Bush Administration, the neo-conservatives have taken over our foreign policies.  The neo-cons, by controlling the media, have rallied support for the illegal Iraq War, and have promoted the idea of Big Government.   The Neo-cons are terrible, NOT our system of government.
