  1. Taking care of their habitat is important. The importance of these species is that they are part of the eco system, they are interdependent. We do not know the impact of their removal from that system, because we do not and can not know enough about them. We are only just learning about the soil and the incredible effects fungi has on all growth around it. Leave their natural habitat alone, nature is the best care taker and teacher.

  2. Besides the fact that we NEED animals and plants to exist for our own survival, how about each species right to exist.  By always relating the question to how it can benefit us as humanity we rob each species' of its individuality and unique beauty.  True we as people need all elements of the natural world, it is probable that we do not need Pandas or Polar Bears.  But by having the attitude that an animal or plant is only important if it benefits us is anthropocentric and egotistical.  For example, the ant that crawls by while you eat lunch on the grass is just as important as yourself and therefore you have no more right to kill it or injure it than you would to another human being.  Respect and admiration for our planet is something everyone could use more of and by understanding the intricate relationships of varying species in an ecosystem, we learn to appreciate their state of existence and see that the natural world offers far more in the form of beauty than any creation set forth by man.

  3. these animals are part of ecosystem. the whole ecosystem is damaged by endangered animals.we are effected because there is a huge unbalance in nature do to this. we get tusks, honey etc from animals. more importantly we are learning  to test crossover and cloning in them

  4. Lets say (god forbid) you are struck down by a fatal illness.  It turns out that a plant in the Amazon (once plentiful) could have saved you from this horrible prolonged death.  It's now extinct.

    See the value now?

All ecosystems are connected.  On levels we can only guess at and (hopefully) continue to learn about.

The loss of one species lessens us all.  Their niche, place, value, importance and meaning to this small rock circling the sun should never be underestimated.

Be they a panda, mountain flower, slug, tiger, or moss.

  5. Cause we are the endangered species, when we kill the earth.

  6. They were here before us, they are interesting species. Do you want your grandchildren and great-grandchildren not being able to see those types of animals?

    Also:

No creature exists in a vacuum. All living things are part of a complex, delicately balanced network called the biosphere. The earth's biosphere is composed of ecosystems, which include plants and animals and their physical environment. The removal of a single species within an ecosystem can set off a chain reaction affecting many other species. It has been estimated, for example, that a disappearing plant can take with it up to 30 other species, including insects, higher animals, and even other plants. The full significance of an extinction is not always readily apparent; much remains to be learned, and the full long-term impacts are difficult to predict.

  7. Bella donna, Andy ,and others already said it ,no man is an island

we humans are part of the worlds eco systems and depend on them for our survival

just because you cannot see the connection or the importance does not make it any less

some people say they dont like mosquitos .lets kill them all

Well they tried that on the banks of the Danube and all of the life in the wood disappeared, the mosquito's being near the bottom of the food chains of many animals

just think what all eats mosquito's and their larvae

birds ,toads ,frogs ,lizards ,fish ,other insects like dragon flies, then think what all eats those things ,foxes, other birds, weasels, snakes, etc.

and then what eats all who eats them .

Now with the bees disappearing in many places there are huge problems with crops not being pollinated .

Endangered species also play their parts ,in eco systems that have been fine tuned for millions of years .

the more species become endangered ,the more endangered we will become our selves .Because we are on the top .

Apart from that what kind of world do you want the children to inherrit???

Our generation and the ones before us have managed to destroy more in a hundred years that all of Humanity in the history of the planet

Somewhere along the line should be the sense of responsibility

Are we guardians of the lands we ocupy during our life time and during the seconds of the lands  existence ,as Native Americans believe ,(they do not think of themselves as owners )

    But we do ,

so  do we have the right to wipe it all out  in the brief moment that we are here or is the land  also meant for  those who come after?????????

  8. I just watched a documentary on Yellowstone and it explained in detail how the killing ( and near extinction) of all the wolves years ago affected the eco balance of the entire area, including insects and plant life- it was truley amazing and eye opening!   I think it was the History or Discovery channel.

  9. Endangered  species means we do not have many of them left, careless handling or a car less attitude can lead to extinction ,since they are on the brink anyway. The sum total of all creatures & all living things is so closley interlinked that we are almost like a large family,we are dependent on each other & also contribute to the greater benefit of all.Biodiversity is the key to a balanced ,healthy & productive world, let us strive to keep it that way.
